| mergirl | food logs
I was using weight watchers, but I am not paying for the online service anymore. I found a pretty nice free one at caloriecount. I am attaching some of the reports you can generate. I have not figure out exactly how many calories I need in a day. Look Phal, you can eat good AND have yummy food!! haha ![]() ![]()

Logs! While I realize that fiber is an important part of a healthy diet, I must object to the eating of logs as we are having some serious deforestation problems in the world. Please make sure your logs are labeled...oh...logs as in a diary. Nevermind. Signed, Emily Latella |

I was attracted to the thread by the title "food logs". Like lenina it took me a few seconds to understand what it meant. I see your comment about protein Phaleron. I saw a programme on TV which said that by having a high protein diet (for breakfast for example) the brain will transmit fewer cravings for sweet "fixes". Although it was a programme to explain how to lose weight/diet succesfully i reckoned it would be useful advice too for anyone (like me) wanting to keep clear of alchohol cravings. I've since tried to increase protein content in my diet. Another interesting point on the programme was they proved that eating (low fat) dairy products (yoghourt etc) increased how much fat the body excretes. Often when dieting i've tended to reduce dairy products but it seems there is a good argument to keep them.

well, until I switch to phal's 5 item a day diet I don't think I can log everyday anyway, too much work! I shop on the weekends so I will see what replacements I can make. It's hard to take protein to work

I'll look into it, but I eat so much I wouldn't want anybody to know! Still It might be good to scare myself back on track, what I liked about Weight Watchers was that there were a lot of things I could eat until I was satiated, which is why I'm still following their regime but not attending meetings so as not to pay. But weighing in gave me really good incentive to eat correctly and LESS.

Ya I miss them poppy! The problem I am having now, is it seems a bit harder to make the "core" foods portable. When I worked at home, I would have veggies, non fat dairy, fruit and lean protein all day, and then my one serving of whole wheat pasta, brown rice or potato with dinner. I added the low fat, whole wheat eggos and sandwiches on whole wheat when I started having to dine in my car, and now I wish I still had access to the online stuff so I could switch to points and see how far off I am. I may just have to suck it up and pay for the site again once I replenish my funds from the big trip.

I'd tell you to practice, but when your working with eggs, corn torts, chicken, and weird chems I can't pronounce it won't matter much.
