| Diet pills that will not interact with psych meds or affect brain chemistry.
I'm 5' 9"/175 pounds/Male/23 I won't see my psycdoc til Friday, so Im asking you guys about this stuff first. I sort of want to buy something by tuesday, if there's anything out there worth it. I noticed that on the info slip that comes with my meds, some mention that you should seek advice from a doctor if you are taking psycmeds plus diet pills. But aren't there pills out there which are effective and not necc. diet pills? I used Revolution Abdominal Cuts for a bout a month. It says it's made up of naturally occuring healthy oils which lead to weight loss around the stomach and abdomen. Plus it has no stimulants in them, so i figured it would be safe to use. Didn't sound like a regular diet pill. Problem is that my front side didn't go down after using them for a MONTH. I still have a gut. And I run every other day, use my gazelle on the alternate days, and do some crunches (90) and push ups (36) everday. I think my problem is that I still over eat. But I really want to lose weight quicker. Is there anything out there that won't messs with your brain chemistry or interact with psyc meds? Anything that works, that is. Thanx. I'm not much of a fan of diet pills. There are just so many scams and lots of ways to spend good money (they sure aren't cheap) for no results. There is no quick fix, IMO and it sounds as if you are making changes that will help over time. I found keeping a food journal for a few weeks of everything I ate and the portion size really helped me to identify areas I could change. Drinking more water instead of snacking helped eliminate many empty calories. Turning my caloric intake upside down so I ate more earlier in the day and not at night helped a lot too. If you do decide you really want to go the diet pill route, please talk it over with your doctor. Many so called natural products can have as many chemical interactions as prescribed drugs.

My advise is diet and exercise. Cut the carbs from your diet and eat 6 smaller meals a day, maybe some carbs in the morning none after lunch, increase the protein, ie chicken, fish, lean meat and eggs. start some weight bearing exercises, the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn. No point focussing on too many crunches, you cant see abs beneath a gut anyway. Drink plenty of water. Weight loss dugs will on help for those last few lbs anyway. When you are ready for that try some carnitine, its natural and should not affect and meds.

Yeah, I might have to drink more water. At night I get these huge cravings to eat, and instead of drinking some water, i go for bagels and chips and soda. It's like i have to eat bad, otherwise i don't feel as good. But then I wake up in the morning hating my gut, and just wishing i didn't eat after 8pm. I drink a lot of green tea. Does that help? |

I am not on any meds right now but I tried Slimquick recently and it didn't work. I have tried Hydroxycut in the past as well and I found the only thing that works is exercise and eatting in moderation. I did have some weird but not terrible mood swings, but while I was on Slimquick I was also doing the South Beach diet and was depriving myself of too many foods. Good luck to you...I always find though I feel mentally better after exercise, even just a quick walk around the block.

Green tea is good for the metabolism, keep on drinking it, but as Phal said a gallon of water a day. You gotta stop those bagels and chips especially at night !!!!! Get some protein powder, mix with water and drink at night, will fill you and keep your metabolism ticking while you sleep

Recent research suggests eating less (smaller portions) is more effective than exercise and/or pills in terms of losing weight. Lower your caloric intake and you don't have as much to burn off.

ok, I've decided not ot use any diet pills, but I am taking one dose of caffeine pills at night so I can stay up and do my excercise. Right now, I'm falling asleep pretty early, then wake up in the middle of the night. Im tired of that schedule. I wanna be awake after 7pm til 1 or whatever so i can excercise, clean, watch tv, read. Im only taking one dose of caffeine per day, and it's around the evening time. Do you think im compromising my sobriety or mental disorder in any way with this? The bottle says one dose of caffeine pills is equivalent ot one or two cups of coffee. Doesn't sound bad. |
