17 year old son is an addict

I just read an article about TerminalUnigueness. I believe my son is st this stage, he lies more often than tells truth. And.... he is the most honest, direct no BS person I know..... so I'm starting to understand why all the lying and almost bazaar texts and conversations we have been sharing for the last three months, and I believe he is experiencing this phenomena. Read up on this...knowledge is power so we can actually help, not enable. If you don't know the definition of enable, start there first. Good luck. I know I need it....

Hello DEP,

I am sorry to hear about your son. It is heartbreaking...especially since it is all on the addict to decide to quit. At 17, though, I know it makes it harder because you are still legally responsible for him--and he is just so young.

Others will be along soon to share their own experience with teenagers. I just wanted to say hello, and to let you know that you have found a place where people do understand.
