...and still as sweet as ever. LOL. Thank you all for your support!! I have lost 15 pounds now. "Only" sixty to go. Anybody interested in an online OA meeting here at SR? I think that would rock! Love and hugs, Eddie

I have very mixed feelings about 'sugar free' and related nutrition plans. I'm glad it works for you, but I still pause because removing something completely is always worrisome because your body needs a certain amount of everything to have balance. If it works for you, that is great, but don't feel guilty if you have a piece of dark choc or somethign here and there, life is about moderation, not abstinence. -p

Eddie, I have asked and asked if anyone was interested.....and no one has spoke up....but, if we have the interest and have someone who can chair it, then we can have it!! I think it would be great. I just don't have the computer availability to committ to something like that. So........anyone..................anyone at all, speak up!!

I guess you missed my post about me finding out I have diabetes. I really can't eat what I used to anymore. I'm now going to OA and it IS about abstinence for me these days. Moderation is unfathomable to an addict such as myself. I am eating much better now and when I weighed today, I found I have lost another pound or two, so make that 17 pounds! I do appreciate what you said, though, about balance and I am opposed to the Atkins diet myself. Thank you, pedagogue!! And thank you, Pony and Lee, too!! I wish I could offer to chair an online OA meeting, but I'm afraid I can't commit to it right now because of my work schedule and being on call nights and weekends. Maybe I will try to come up with someone from the meetings I go to here at home. That reminds me, I need to call my sponsor. Have a swell Sunday afternoon, all!! Love and hugs, Eddie

Speaking of books....if all goes well, you'll be able to read my book next year. I'm in talks with a friend and her publishing company about producing a series of books for teenagers. They want me to write the first one, and i'm trying to pitch them a follow-up book on Body Image, which I think shouldn't be too hard to sell.Ok, off to practice for a bit. Have a nice weekend. -p

Have you ever heard of Dr. Ralph Carson? I heard him speak a couple of times at Pine Grove when I was there. If you possibly can, you should go to this conference! He is awesome. Thank you, Trish!! Love and hugs, Eddie

Thank you, Ms B, and CONGRATULATIONS on 4 weeks and 5 pounds!! That's awesome!! Are you sleeping any better, too? I know low blood sugar can wake you up in the night and I was thinking that may have been part of your problem. I AM feeling pretty great physically, especially considering all the craziness that's been going on in my life, though I do get tired. I read Potatoes Not Prozac years ago and thought I didn't need that program at the time. Now I definitely do. I gave my copy to Dr. Carson, though, so I probably ought to get a new one. Best wishes in your continued recovery!! Love and hugs, Eddie

Eddie, Congrats on 26 days sugar free and Congrats on the loss of 15 lbs. That is just wonderful. Keep up the great work. I would be interested in an OA meeting here at SR, but I wouldn't have a clue how to chair one and I haven't been to very many f2f ones either. But if you could get others to agree and someone that knows what they are doing to chair it, I would really love that. We'll see, I guess.

Thank you, Nina Kay!! I still have to figure out where I'm going to get my chip. I don't think there are any OA meetings around here today, so I may have to go to High Point tomorrow morning. The meeting here in town is on Tuesdays and this coming Tuesday my NA sponsor is celebrating at our home group, so I need to go to NA that night. Meanwhile, I now have 31 days!! And I'm going to weigh this morning to see how I'm doing in that department. The blood sugar is not so good, though. I'm thinking about calling the doctor's office to see if they want to go ahead and start me on medication rather than waiting until my next appointment in May. What do you think? Love and hugs, Eddie

Hey Eddie, I'm sorry that I'm so late on getting to this, but yes, I do think that you should follow your gut and see the Dr. to get the blood sugar under control as soon as possible. May is a long way off. Diabetes is so serious and nothing to mess around with. It can get worse, so the sooner it's under control the better. I also want to congratulate you on the 31 days. Let me know if you got to an OA meeting and got that chip.

Well, I did make an appointment to see the doctor at the end of March instead of waiting until May. I have also now lost 19 pounds!! And I went to OA in High Point this morning and got my chip. Thank you, Nina Kay!! Oh, and I asked about someone chairing an online meeting here and I got the names of some guys who may be interested. I need to give them a call soon, I guess, huh? Love and hugs, Eddie

Eddie, I'm glad to hear that you made the appointment. Let me know how it comes out. I'm so proud of you for getting your chip. That was a real accomplishment, for sure. Congratulations on losing the 19 lbs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so wonderful. That would be great if you could find someone to chair the online meeting. Just please not at 6:00 p.m. Central Time on Thursday Nights. There has been a new OA Meeting started here that I'm starting at that time next week. I haven't been to one in almost a year. I need it badly.

Thank you again, Nina Kay!! No, 6PM Central on Thursdays isn't good for me either. I'm so glad you're getting back to face-to-face meetings!! They make a big difference, don't they? Love and hugs, Eddie

Yes, they do and I'm really excited. I'm really doing good right now with my plan, but I think that the f2f support will really cap it off and it will give me more recovery tools to share.

I'm sure it will!! I can't remember if I posted this link here before, but I've been getting some great recipes and other information from the South Beach Diet Online. Thought y'all might also be interested. Love and hugs, Eddie

Finding someone to chair the OA online meeting here has been a challange. I have been asking around for years. I hope that we can find one.

I'm going to be working on it, Pony!! What do you all think, black or green olives for a mackerel dish with tomatoes? I think green and that's what I have on hand, but the recipe actually calls for black olives. I know this seems picayune, but I'm trying to cook more and I need help sometimes. Thank you!! Love and hugs, Eddie
