| Diversity in meal choices
Diversity in meal choices, how do you deal with this? Or am I the only picky eater in the world? *LOL* I am a picky eater. The foods I like form a short list. Take away foods I shouldn’t eat and the list becomes even smaller. What is a person to do? Day one… Tuna …Yum Yum Day two… Tuna… Yum Day three…Tuna… McDonalds sounds good right about now. Salads will do the same. Great for a few days but I will get tired of them fast. A staple food for me has always been cheeseburgers. What I do or try to do, have my entire food intake be the healthiest it can be of that food type. Lean, fresh cut, not processed. (As able to stick with, as budget allows) The cheeseburger example… No Mc Donald’s. Home cooked, extra lean, only one slice of cheese, wheat breads. As with all my red meat choices…lean cuts only. Fruits and vegetables are my snack foods. By mixing up when I eat each food, I can enjoy my meal and be fed at the same time. The same foods day after day can get boring and bring out cravings in me. Mix up the choices or start liking more foods? For now I will mix *LOL*

Very true Best, the same thing day after day can get boring and leave someone wanting to venture out to things that may not be good for them. It does happen to me also. Eventhou I am a creature of habit, liking the same thing more than once in the week, I too need variety. Other than mixing up what foods I eat when, I also cook with spices and herbs to give it a different taste. It may be chicken, but it's a different kind of chicken. Because I am no longer cooking for a family and only for myself, I find it hard to only buy for one. Sometimes I get a whole chicken and have to divide it up through the week. So I come up with different recipes that I can use it with ... or freeze some of it. The wanting to eat out: Well, I do eat out. There have been changes made in many fast food choices. Manu places are now offering grilled chicken instead of fried and breaded patties. Many choces of salads and some healthy side options as well. So if you can manage to stay away from the fries, you got it made. Another thing I have found helpful, and need to get back to it myself, is to have some healthy snack foods already cut up and ready to grab. Especially for people on the run all the time and need it available to take and go. My day is Sunday to prepare for the work week. I take some time to shop and get them washed up and cut up and put into snack baggies or in a bowl ready to take when leaving for work. It also works for the times when you are stressed and looking for something to grab. Instead of grabbing the bad stuff, you can reach for good healthy stuff because it is there and not feel guilty about it. My other trick has also been to have flavored sodas available too. Those tend to satisfy most of my sweet cravings and temp. fills up emtpiness between meals. Now I don't drink diet soda's but you may choose to do that if you are staying away from sugar. Most of all don't forget you water!!
