Oprah

I watched her show today on her weight loss and her boot camp.

She works out 8 times a week, and does 300 situps a day!!

She had some great little snack ideas too.

I know I need to bump up my cardio more......treadmill..treadmill....treadmill

I really have found that I like that ulipticle (sp?) and it's supposed to give you more of a cardio than the treadmill.

Copied from her website.....

Every day between 3:30 and 4 p.m., Oprah knows she will be ravenous. What simple snack gets her through these cravings? She has a cup of green tea, a handful of almonds and slices of apple and Parmesan cheese. "Usually people are looking for some kind of texture with their snacks," Bob Greene explains. "[The nuts and apple] add the crunch."
___________________________
Oprah has discovered a no-fat, no-sugar fudgesicle that satisfies her chocolate cravings. "I feel like I'm indulging myself," she says, "but it's, like, 45 calories!"
_________________________
"Have you ever done this?" Oprah asks. "Just standing with the cabinet open, looking up and down trying to find something? And you know there ain't nothing in there that wasn't there 12 minutes ago!"

Oprah handles this problem by making a crunchy sundae—she grabs a handful of Grape-Nuts® cereal and a handful of Spoon Size® Shredded Wheat. … "And then I use 2 percent milk," she says. "Skim would be even better but I don't like it. Then a few blueberries on top—and that is delicious

Oprah is convinced that this healthy gelatin cobbler snack is as good as a sundae. First, prepare the "cobbler" with unsweetened flavored gelatin, using Diet Sprite®, Diet 7-Up® or Fresca® instead of water. Add strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Then garnish with a squirt of whipped cream. Top with crushed walnuts or almonds and enjoy!

the jello with diet soda sounds yummy to me. I am gonna get some of that today. I got sick of plain sugar free jello pretty quickly.

Last night I browned chopped zuchini in onions and taco seasoning. Then I browned ground turkey in taco seasoning, layered it in a pan, topped with motz cheese and baked for a few minutes to melt the cheese....stuffed it into Whole wheat pita pockets...YUMMY dinner.

Having a personal chef does make it alot easier. Just ask my H who has lost 30 lbs in like 2 months. with me making ALL his meals.

Oprah show on Meth addiction

WOW .... powerful, painful show!

I watched it with my two daughters who know about my addiction to alcohol but not to drugs.

I cried my eyes out and they couldn't understand WHY it affected me so!

Although Meth was not my choice of drugs, the show could be applied to any addiction.

In both cases, a forceful intervention was used. It had me almost wishing my family had done that to me!

GOD, how'd I get here?
