Hi, I have been sufering form bulemia for over 2y years, and have been in therapy for 1 year trying to get help and I still binge and purge. I go sometimes a week or so without doing it but then I relapse and I think I am never going to kick this addition or disease what ever you want to call it. But to day has been a good day I have been mostly in a bad mood all day, but the good thing about it is that I have not binged or purged all day, this makes it a good day. I figure I need more support than just therapy alone and I am willing to take any suggestions on how to have more days like this.

Legalas

I would like to welcome you to this forum. There are many here that have been struggling with some those same issues. I'm sure someone will come along before too long that can share with you some of how they have gotten through some of their days. There are some Power Posts above that have links that you might find interesting.

The OA program uses the 12-Steps to deal with the issues surrounding eating disorders......I;m sure we could find one in your area....you could check it out. You can usually find lots of face to face support with others that share the same issues.

At least you are reaching out and that is a great sign. It's a start and you are welcome to share here.

Legalas,
Welcome to the SR Forum Of Eating Disorders. Bulimia is another form of Compulsive Overeating. I do understand your reluctance to talk to a group of people face to face, but in OA Recovery Groups, these are people just like you in alot of ways & one of the 2 small groups that I've attended, had a member with the bulimic eating diorder & she was doing very well in her recovery. Here is the site to find a meeting or meetings near you: http://www.oa.org/all_about_meetings.htm
You will be so glad that you did because no one can understand like someone who is going through the same things. Also, please keep coming back here to vent & to share any need or good or bad experiences having to do with your eating disorder.

Hey Legalas,
I went to check out some of the sites under POWER POSTS at the top of this forum, like Pony suggested & they are Wow !!! with information & online meetings where you can be with alot of other people going through what you are without seeing them face to face. Check It Out !!!!!!! Guess you can tell that I haven't been on this site very long either.
