getting fatter

Iam getting fatter and fatter, food for me is so pleasurable It is a relief and a desire. Iam always hungry. Is there anyone else who feels this way, or anyone who has some advise? Iam so sick of feeding my face, fat is ugly, I hate it.

Welcome Wokachick, yes, there many of us out there that have those feelings. Food addiction is just as much a drug as alcohol/narcotics are. It can be used as an escape as well as drinking too much. The high from using food too feel good is also temporary which is why people continue to eat more, just like using drugs/alcohol.

I, too, am an emotional compulsive overeater. I am also recoverying alcoholic. I used to bounce back and forth from drinking to eating to hide away from and not deal with the real issues in my life. It takes living each day.....one day at a time...and making a choice for that day not to use food or alcohol or any other mind altering substance to live through that day dealing with life as it comes.

For me having a healthy food plan, an excerise routine and the support of those who are presently and have gone through this experience is what helps me through each day.

There are some wonderful programs out there for face to face help with this....also online help. Cheching with your personal doctor might be a great start to make sure of any medical conditions that might be contributing to your weight gain....also recommended before starting any new weight loss or exercise program.

Please be sure to come back and lets us get to know you.

Also sometimes our bodies mis-read THIRST as hunger. Try drinking a little glass of water before you eat something, when you get the out of control feeling.
