| Is this too much?
Since June 6th, I have increased my exercise time from 1 hour/day to 2 hours a day. I usually go between being on the stairmaster and going out speed walking. I eat a light lunch, eat a normal supper, drink lots of water and artifical sweetener and milk (instead of white sugar and whitener) in my coffee. So far, I have lost a total of 7.5 pounds (doesn't seem like very much?). Am I exercising too much? I feel like I have more energy, like I am more in shape and stronger. Is this aneorexic behavior? -SFG29 |

I think you know if your behavior is obsessive or not? I cannot tell you that. Exercise is good, just be sure that you are eating correctly. Either 3 good meals a day, or 6 small meals. Take your vitamins, drink lots of water, like you are. 7.5 lbs is alot to lose in a week, be careful, take it easy on youself.

I wish I took it off in a week- it is a month though, lol! Yeah- the eating thing- I am still eating one big meal (about 500cal), one little meal(250 cal). It sure seems to be coming off slowly.

The more slowly you lose weight, the more likely you are to keep it off. I believe 2.5lbs. per week is the recommended max for weight loss. In terms of the exercise, I think Paulie is right in saying only you know if your behavior is obsessive/anorexic. Consider, what is your motivation for exercising that much? Doing more cardiovascular/aerobic exercise than 30 or 40 minutes up to 5 times a week is basically wasting your time and putting you at higher risk of injury. The recommendation for aerobic exercise is 20-30 minutes 3-5 times per week. If you want to boost your metabolism, add in some strength training. When you build muscle, you burn more calories when the body is at rest. Remember, though, muscle weighs more than fat, so you may actually gain weight but become less "fat." So my opinion is that you were already exercising more than enough before June 6th, but you have to examine your thinking to know if that's anorexic. Hope this helps! Love, Eddie
