Anybody tried Meridia?

Well, what did you think? Does it work? Thanks!

I tried Meridia, I felt a little different. I still binged, but my sister took it and did well although when she quit she gained weight back. A co worker took it and was successful in keeping the weight off. Like a lot of meds it has serious side effects. Good luck.

Thanks so much for responding antreeta!! Did it help you with cravings at all? My biggest problem is not knowing when to stop eating. Should it help with that? It doesn't sound like it worked that way for you, am I right? Thanks again.
Love, Eddie

My cravings weren't there, but I ate anyway. I had a lot of issues that needed to be dealt with and I wasn't dealing with them. It was a couple of years ago. But it worked really well afor the other people I know who used it.

I also remember the worst dry mouth I ever had and constipation. Sorry for the graphics but those are huge side effects most get with this medicine.

Thanks again, antreeta! I think I need to see a nutritionist and maybe do some kind of sugar detox diet. I am just out of control!
Love, Eddie

Thanks, Fidget! You are so sweet, no pun intended. But I just had several cookies. As we say in NA, "One's too many, and a thousand is never enough!" LOL. I definitely eat as a comfort thing. It's something my mom ingrained in me. Food was her solution to all life's problems. I was afraid my compulsive overeating would resurface when I got clean but it took quitting cigarettes for it to happen. Since I quit smoking, I just crave sweets!!

Some of the women in my network and I agreed last night to go to OA next week. I haven't been to an OA meeting since I came home from treatment in March of 2003, so I am really looking forward to it. I wonder if there are any sponsors available. I really need to commit to a meal plan of some kind. Which reminds me, I'll have to talk to my NA sponsor about this. Help me remember, y'all!

Love, Eddie

I took Meridia for about six months a couple of years ago and lost a little over twenty pounds. What I liked about Meridia is its ability to control my appetite giving me more control, but what I didnt like about Meridia was the horrific insomnia. I wound up dropping Meridia after not sleeping for four days. Its too bad as it worked great for my weight loss, but I need to sleep!
