Well, I am on day 3 of that Special K diet. I've cut out all the snacks and we shall see what 3 weeks of cereal does. It hasn't been very hard. I just miss the ice cream. I do plan on having a fat free frozen yogart the next time I hit Costco though. I'll skip the cereal that day. |

So MG what you're saying is that you are only eating Special K all day? Wow I give you credit.... I could never even commit myself to be that stricked. I am weak! Let know how you do, and when you have that frozen yogart have a bite for me!

Cutting out snacks.... Well this is a hard one for me because I am one of those people that eats smaller meals but LOVE my snacks. The one thing that I found really helpful is not having a drink that will trigger me to want that snack. Like drinking a diet soda....makes me want some chips or a cup of tea at night........makes me want something sweet. So if I stick to water it helps me to aviod my snack craving. Colleen |

Drinking that water is good...... Actually I have heard that it is healthier to eat small meals and some snacks in between. I think it's more that type of snack that a person chooses that make it good or not.

Your right it is the kind of snake that I chose because when this usally hits me I need to be able to have it now. So I ended up going for the first bag of whatever in the cabnet. Now I just keep drinking that water and soon it passes. What a feeling when it does pass...I feel great

Hi everyone You guys are doing great. QTpie I admire that you can control yourself when you feel like snacking, drink lots of water and let it pass, that's fantastic! MG, a special k diet? I have never heard of that before, I do like special k but not enough to just eat that. Good luck with that, let us know how you do. As for me, I love snacks too. Unfortunately once I start snacking I can't stop so I have to try not to snack too much. My week has been really up and down. If I am good and controlled eating wise I have a good day with no binges or problems but other days if I eat one thing that is "wrong" it sets the course for the rest of the day. I mean, if I eat one thing wrong I will go and vomit, then eat more, then vomit, then eat more, then vomit again. I'm sure you get the picture here. But then the next day if I just eat "normally" then I don't have a problem. It's horrible though, once I start gorging I can't stop. I used to throw up absolutely everything I ate every day but say out of the last week I have probably thrown up on only two days out of seven. Not perfect I know but certainly a huge improvement for me. Laying off the booze has helped as well, since I have been drinking a lot less (not much at all lately) my weight has stabilised, perhaps even dropped a little (I'm not actually overweight anyway, I just think I am). Anyway, everyone uses the phrase improvement not perfection and I do believe I am improving a lot. The thoughts in my head are not there all the time anymore and they are becoming a lot less. Anyway, I planned to just say hello but ended up writing a novel. Nice to meet you all here. Love Helen |

Helz, You sound so much like me it's scarey. If I can get on a good healthy diet and quit binging, then I won't throw up. It's hard for me to find diets that don't keep me hungry all the time. Has anyone tried the South Beach Diet? It's similar to the Atkins diet. Low carbs, no suger. I was on it for a month and lost 14 pounds, and stayed pretty satisfied. You can sign up online, although it's about 25 dollars. It's basically just low carb though. For the first 2 weeks, you don't eat any carbs, then after that you start to bring in some good carbs to your diet, like brown rice, wheat bread, etc. And you really watch your sugers.....anyway, just wondered if any of ya'll had tried diets like this? How did they work for you? PG |
