Intro

I'm a binger/overeater/occasional purger/codependant.

Yup. I've got issues.

HP take it away.

I've been working hard on my steps one through three. Slowly it is all becoming clear. And I've yet to go to a IRL/3-D meeting.

I can't do this without a real meeting.

I'm posting here...well...to admit to SOMEONE (no matter how anonymous) that, YES, I need to go to a meeting because I am sick. I am an addict. I need help. I cannot do it alone.

I am powerless over controlling my food/beverage consumption. I am powerless to control my husband's drinking.

I need help from a higher power. Nothing else has helped me.

I've been EDed for 20 years. 20 years people. that is a LONG time.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired?

I hope so.

Hi and welcome,

You have made the first step towards recovery, you have admitted that you are powerless.

That is huge and you should be proud of yourself for admitting that.

Now, what is holding you back from a face to face meeting?

Again, welcome to SR and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hi Aibreanowl,

I'm glad you found the forum. Like Paulie said, admitting you are powerless and need help is the first step. 20 years is a long time, but one day of recovery matters more than 20 years of dysfunction. I hope you will follow through and get to a meeting to get the help you need.

By the way, what is a IRL/3-D meeting, and what is EDed.

Juls
