getting started...

Right now in my road to healthy living, I am working on getting organized. I started seeing a councelor who is helping me in this endever because I am unable to do it on my own. I just am not an organized person, no matter how much my mother tried to teach me. It's just not part of my make up. but if I want to achieve some of the goals that I have set for myself, including weight loss, I need to somehow get some organization into my life.

It's not just the things around me, but also my head and my thoughts. I am scattered everywhere at times. It distracts me from doing what I need to do, the steps I need to take to put action into my plan for a healthier life.

Thanks for sharing Pony, I agree that organization in all aspects of life can be a tremendous help in recovery. I've heard people from one of my other programs share the mantra "messy bed, messy head". Seems kinda childish but it makes sense.

I was just talking to a co-worker about our different diets, and we both agreed that it's necessary to understand that it's a lifestyle change. I had to throw aside old habits and old behaviors when it came to eating, and start from scratch. Now that I've seen the results, I have no desire to go back to my old lifestyle.

Keep us posted on your progress, I wish you the best.

I am completely the polar opposite. I am too organized. I am at the point where I am obsessive compulsive about everything and it makes it so hard to get anything done when I see so many things that need to be done.

And though I'm organized, because I take it to the other extreme, my brain is still scattered and I am unable to focus.
