| "The Writing Diet" has anyone read this book?
I just journaled my way through a book called "The Writing Diet" by Julia Cameron. Through a series of writing exercises, it leads the reader to making some observations about their food related issues, and through that, some changes in their behaviors. I got a handle on my compulsive eating a few years ago, and have actually been using the book to work on some other addictive behaviors I have. In most cases I found I was able to substitute my addiction, since the issues behind it are the same, to the writing exercises. I've found it really useful, and it helped me come to some important insights. Now I am going to start it over again, addressing some more specific issues that I recognized my first time through. It's a different approach to disordered eating, that some may find useful and refreshing. I'd suggest taking a look. It was published by Penguin in 2007, the ISBN is 978-1-58542-571-6 |
