Hello Sarah and Welcome to the Eating Disorders Forum of SoberRecovery. We are glad that you've found us here. Have you ever been to or considered talking to a Counselor that specializes in eating disorders and nutrition? I would think that this would need to be the first step that you take towards recovery. You could also look for meetings of Overeater's Anonymous, which is for people of all eating disorders really. There you will get the face to face support that you need from others who are struggling or have struggled with the same problems that you are facing. Only they can understand all that you are going through and dealing with, just as we do here. Eating Disorders stem from the same kind of thinking. They are just manifested in different ways. As for gaining weight quickly, you can drink the Ensure Drinks or other brands of high calorie/high vitamin & mineral content drinks that you'll find in your Pharmacy. Honestly, I feel that you'll need to address your original problems that caused you to have this problem in the first place, in order to make any real difference that will stick. I suggest that you read the Stickies at the top of this page. There is alot of useful information and links to other sites that will be very beneficial to you. And please do keep coming back here as often as you possibly can. Others will be along soon to share with you also.

hey start with small goals. Know that this will take time. Stay honest with yourself, and it will be much easier to accept this process. If youve had this for as long as you can remember, it may take longer than you can imagine to fully recover! So be patient and love yourself. Be gentle. Learn to view food as something that is good for you, that will add to your life and not take away from it. Maybe choose a couple things you truly enjoy and just look forward to eating those! And gradually add some healthier options or simply a further variety in ingredients... |
