Smile 2-4-6-8 diet

hey everyone! i'm new to these forums, but i'm rachel (a recovering cross addicted addict) and i'm really into getting fit right now!

I'm on the 2-4-6-8 diet (starting today) and I was wondering if anyone else has ever tried it, what their results were, and if I can exercise while i'm doing this?

the diet goes:

200 calories the first day
400 calories the next
600 the third
800 the fourth
and you fast the 5th day

you can also do 4-6-8-10 diet and other variations, but basically, it jumpstarts your metabolism and keeps it boosting by varying calorie intake everyday.

thanks so much!

Rachel

Hi Rachel! I hope your recovery is going well.

Those numbers you listed are an extremely low caloric intake per day. Do you mean that you eat 200 calories less than your maintenance calorie intake, then 400, then 600, etc, or that you only eat 200kcal, 400kcal, etc.
I do absolutely support the idea of caloric cycling when trying to diet, and certainly exercise can be added (what type of exercise?). However, attempting to keep calorie intake that low will lead to nasty problems, very quickly.

yeah, 200 calories a day isn't even enough to keep ya alive baby. especially if you're exercising... there's a great food tracking website, pm me and i'll give you the link.

happy you're sober, love!

This diet is most commonly used within the pro eating disorder sites or "anorexic sub-cultures". Which is also why probably you won't find any real websites on it.

It's not a good idea. I hope you are doing okay.
