Hey Jack That's right ...it WAS 4.6.09...but yesterday I self justified having something that was NOT an OS...but to be honest it WAS (for me) SO, I got sober by being honest, and I am going to get OS free by being honest. Day 1 is today 7th April 2009. I am aiming for 100! I feel very blessed to be part of this forum with its support and I know God will help me in this - if I just let Him! Onward and Upward! Cathy31 x

So far, so good. I'm getting ready to head for the gym to get some dreadmill time in. Bum shoulder prohibits much of anything else, for now. May we all live in peace. |

I caught some kind of flu bug yesterday. That is the bad news. The good news is that I haven't felt like eating anything especially sweets. Congrats on 30 days Nina.

I laughed at the "dreadmill"...I hadn't heard that before...Congratulations to all who add one more day...congratulations to all who post...congratulations to all who try to make changes in their lifes one day at a time. It is grandiose, but I believe it would be great to see our stories on the newspapers' front page instead of pain and suffering that is typically shown. But that is just my opinion. I am ready for a new day. Jack, you know I've sort of removed myself from the "big picture" news for that very reason. I still try to stay active locally, where I can take some action for change/good/whatever. As I progress down this path, I do find that I am taking more control over "inputs". May we all live in peace. |

I follow mainstream media news everyday. In recovery I am working on my tolerance and there is nothing better for that than listening to some politician or corporate bigwig talk. Today's headline. The detective bureau of the NYPD goes 7 days donut free. and the Fub also goes another day OS free.

Hey Cathy, I too feel very blessed to be a part of this forum. And I am very grateful to the ones that kept coming here daily to post so that this forum could still remain here for us also, that are not so faithful to post regularly. (ME) LOL I'm glad to hear that you are being so honest with yourself and that you are coming here to post it so as to hold yourself accountable. I know that honesty with ourselves while dealing with addictions, is very hard to do sometimes. I'm happy that you got back up to go at it again too. Cali, I'm so glad that you're still going strong. That's encouraging. Quote:
Hey Roxie, I am impressed by your determination to do some sort of exercise, even though you have an injury. Way to go. I wish that I was more like you. I'm happy to hear that you are still OS free also and that you are noticing your own personal growth and progress in recovery. We would all do well to follow your example. Oh Fub, I'm so sorry to hear that you've had the flu. My grandson and now my son-in-law have had the flu too. It's been so sad to watch them suffer. Rest and get well soon. You are right that at least that one good thing comes out of it. You are staying OS free. Thanks so much for the Congrats to me for 30 days. I'm so surprised that I've managed to rack up that many days in a row, this time. So far, as of today, I am still OS free. Quote:

I am grateful to come here in the AM...to be honest with myself and others...to work on my recovery from obsessive/compulsive eating of OS's...to read the ES&H of newcomers and those with thousands of posts...to share what is up with me...to affirm to myself and others that I am trying to make the best out of my life... OOoppppssss. Sorry I haven't checked in. This week has been a crazy week and I haven't had much time for the computer. Besides my work schedule, I have been getting ready for my trip coming up this weekend. I will be out of town from Sat. thru Tues. My oldest daughter is getting married on Sat. and then we are going to Reno for a few days. Also, for the counter..... I need to go back to day 1. I did have a good number of days in before I choose to eat an OS. Not too bad for someone who was having a hard time getting through even one day. We'll keep trying.

No sweets for me this week. I was awoken this morning to noises on my balcony and I am not sure if this was a dream or not but there was the Easter Bunny lurking with a basket of chocolate bunnies and pieces of fudge. I was annoyed at how cunning this OS craving was. I ran out of the bedroom to confront the beast and on the balcony were two pigeons screeching away. I was fortunate enough to chase them away before they left an offering of their own. If that bunny comes back I will be ready to chase him off again. Just say NO to Easter treats.

There seems to be so much action on here lately, and I can only think that this helps greatly with my own efforts, so thanks very much to everyone. Hope the Wedding goes well and have a great time Pony. Well done for managing over a month OS free Nina, your absence was really noticeable when you weren't around much and you offer so much encouragement to everyone. Work in a little while and then try and get out on the bike. I still haven't bought any Easter eggs so I will have to attack that one later, have a good break all.

I read the posts...and the support shown...and I am glad I am part of this thread. My life got messy yesterday...there were OS's out triggering me at a business meeting yesterday. I am amazed that my thinking can still start with "I'll have just one." and I will act on that thought. I am absolutely powerless over OS's and other things. As GG said, I "hoovered" down the OS's, latter did the same to Easter cookies in the afternoon and before bed, and went off in another obsessive area that is not good for me. The good news is I have a new day to work on my recovery. I am honest today about what happened. I need to look away from sweets and stay away from other triggers just for today. I am grateful you are all here. I cannot stay sober by myself. Take care. Well that Easter Bunny was out on the balcony again this morning trying to tempt me with his chocolate treats. I did not give in but I will be having some hearty rabbit stew for dinner. Let's all get together and boycott the chocolate Easter egg pushers of the world and give our kids carrots for Easter.
