I am struggling with losing weight...I need about 35 pounds to feel healthly ...the trouble is I feel like super tired all the time. I just purchase a pack of ultra start vitamins...you know the kind you see at the gas station... I tried just about every diet out there.... I need some kind of sugar be it fruit or something because im hyperglecmic and I feel like fainting and shaking if I dont get something. So my question is what kind i do to get some energy so I can get goin...vitamins?? Im pretty much frustrated any suggestions are greatly appreciated |

Exercise always works for me. I may be tired the first day or two, but as my metabolism starts to raise, I feel way more energetic.

Exercise makes a huge difference for me as well. I also need to take iron tablets. The tiredness may be from withdrawal depending on how your food is going. Some fruits also have a high natural sugar content which has the same effect on me as a bit of chocolate - high for about 10 minutes then I slump. May be worth a quick visit to your doctor though to make sure all is okay.

Have you been to a doctor and gotten a check up? It could be a thyroid problem or something. I would also consider getting a good check up and maybe seeing a nutritionist?

Verde, I want to Welcome you to this forum. I can see that you've already started meeting the wonderful people here at SR and there will be others to come and share their personal experiences with their eating disorders, also. I was curious to know if you have hyper or hypo- glycemia. I have hypoglycemia and I react very badly to sugar and the bad carbohydrates. They make my glycemic level dip very low and that saps me of my energy, makes me feel faint, weak, trembly, very irritable and so on............ I have to eat some protein real fast to recover at all from one of those spells and I try to make sure that I eat protein with every meal to keep it leveled out. For diabetics, eating a candy bar helps them real fast when they get into trouble, but for hypoglycemics, it makes the problem much worse. I do agree that you need to see your Dr. and keep at them until they figure out what is truly going on with you. You're really too young to be feeling like that without a problem causing it. I hope that you'll keep coming back here often to read and to post. Keep us up on your health issues.

hypoglycemic - yeah, I had that a long time ago. the doc told me to keep a thingy of peanut butter with me ( I was teaching outfitting/camping stuff back then and would be unable to get to a store or anything for food - to replace with protein instead of sugar. I became a p'nut butter expert/snob ... jsut a spoonful. I do that to this day. I"m not a doc - and hopefully your question is along wtih a doc's supervision. blood sugar as with blood pressure - is nothing to be messing around with.
