| same planet...different world | Hey everyone -
That Oprah episode I was talking about - "Suddenly Skinny" is coming on Friday. The one about the women who had the gastric surgery but didn't treat the addiction .... It's one of the best shows ... ever. thought y'all want to know.

Thanks Barb. I did watch it this afternoon. It was a good one and made some really critical points. It's hard to understand that everytime we try to treat our overweight problem with a quick fix, we're only treating the symptom and by doing that, without treating the underlying cause, we are causing our problems to spiral out of control. Some solutions that seem so simple are really very complicated and others that seem really complicated can be very simple. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

Thank God someone is talking about this as being an addiction. Scientific American not too long ago had an article which cited the similiarities between the chemical reactions in the brains of a drug addict on cocaine let's say and a food addict on certain foods. http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=...-food-extended |
