Back!!

Hi all,
Thanks to Nina and Ladyamalthea. Reading their posts has encouraged me to stop lurking and start trying. a few weeks back my doctor told me that I was the most poorly controlled diabetic patient that he has. My A1C was over 10 and I had not lost any weight. The past few weeks have been a mess. This week I had all my bottom teeth pulled and now have a full denture and a mouth full of stitches. I've used this as an excuse to eat nothing but ice cream, shakes, and cakes. Poor me. No more.

I'm joining Happy Jack and the rest and taking my life back. I've got quite a few reasons to do this. My life has never been better despite myriad challenges and stressors. I have the two best children in the world (Liam - 10 months old, Sheila 3 years old), the best wife (Liz - i won't give her age), and at 47 am just starting to live again. I need to be around to enjoy my kids.

I need to exercise again. I hiked two mountains (small ) this summer, but haven't done any exercise since. I have a plan, motivation, and spiritual tools at my disposal.TIME TO GET BUSY!! I'm back and better than ever.

Mike,
I'm so glad that you're back and pumped to get started towards a healthier life. You sure do have alot to look forward too and alot to enjoy now. I do agree that it would be in your best interest and in the best interest of your babies and wife for you to take the best care of yourself that you possibly can. They'll need you to be around and active in their lives for a very long time to come. Now's the time to turn the tables toward health. Let's get started.
((((((((((Welcome back Hugs)))))))))))
