| Food & Divine Intervention
I lost 100 lbs in Overeaters Anonymous. I counted calories. My "food plan" was to simply eat normal portions. I ate like I drank. Once I got started I could not stop. A meal turned into a binge. My first year in O.A. was a struggle. The withdrawal was a nightmare. After my "normal" meal was over I broke out in tears because I wanted to do it again. I did not think life was worth living without as much food as I could keep down. Eventually God removed my obsession to over eat. Today I am satisfied to stop when I am no longer hungry. Food still comforts me but I only need a little to get that comfort. I believe I am the kind of addict who needed divine intervention.

Thank you so much - I needed the reminder that this is a SPIRITUAL program. And I can ask... as often as necessary... for the help of Higher Power to see me through. (((hugs)))

Congrats on the weight loss, Butterfly woman! I need to lose a little more weight than that... and I find myself feeling so helpless sometimes. So, it is so nice to hear that others have accomplished what seems to be my impossible. Keep coming back, and hopefully you will gain as much from others' posts as I just gained from yours.
