I wasn't really sure where to post this as it could probably be relevant in a few categories. I just wanted to say a few things about me and wondered if anyone wanted to share similar feelings. Currently in my 3rd detox, day 1. In summary, I am 31, have suffered alcohol, drugs, anorexia, bulimia etc over the last 15 years. I was addicted to speed at 17-22 - using it every day. Managed to get myself off it on my own and then started drinking and doing coke heavily which has really been on and off since then. I have had a couple of hideously violent relationships with idiots (I think I must attract the wrong guys) - and b/p and drink have almost always been the crux I fall back on. But now with a history of major depression and anxiety I have to stop. I'm currently living with a guy that I love to bits, he's a good one but has told me that he can't cope with my ED and alcohol problems. He will leave me, which is my biggest fear as I love him so much. So I am throwing myself into recovery and this time I am determined, for me as well as us. I'm sick and tired of feeling like ****. Sorry to rant. If you fancy getting in touch, please do. Love M xx |

Hi Mimi, I'm happy to hear that you're determined to work towards recovery. I hope that you will look everywhere possible for the resources that you need for support and any sort of help that you might need to succeed. I'm glad that you've come here, so that we can all be here to support you also. I know that if you want it bad enough to do whatever you have to, that you will recover from any and all diseases of addiction. I hope that you'll keep coming back here. The more often that you read and post, the more it'll help you. ((((((((((((Supportive Hugs)))))))))))))))

Mimi, a willingness to change and open to guidance covers a lot of ground. You did it with the speed, you can do it again with this. Wishing you all the support and help to make your desired changes. Nea |

Hi, mimi! I've seen your posts on the newcomers board. I didn't know that you also suffer from an anorexia and bulimia. How've you been doing with your ED now that your sober? Maybe we can compare notes and share tips with regards to the ED. |
