2 months, time for an update

well boys and girls it's been almost 2 months sense I started using the abroller soo I figiured it's time for an update.

first of all the abroller REALLY WORKS for someone like me who never could do situps because they used to kill my neck and back, i'd do 2-3 and then. say "screw this this isnt worth it"

this machine is PERFECT no strain on the neck (infact now it's like A ROCK, NO NO SORRY IT IS A ROCK) and the back feels GREAT which was a big concern for me as I have had my spine removed cleaned and put back in at the age of 6 and now while I can walk (thats why they did the sugery I wasnt walking very well) it has caused back problems (but hey atleast I can walk)

now consider that when I started I was almost having to wear size 36 jeans (not quite there but damn close)

2 months later guess what? I am back in to 32 size jeans which tells me I had toi have lost what 10 pounds? perpahps one of you can help me on that I dont have a scale so I dont know.

I know it isnt that big of an acomplishment but I never sick of being told how great I look and I have been told that ALOT

Excellent good, TK...glad it is working out for you. I am attending Curves right now for my exercise.

Last night, my addict daughter (sober 2 years) worked out with me. The ladies at Curves knew me just before I got to Alanon... so they saw the CRAZY me (crazy from chasing my addict daughter through her addiction!). Then I stopped going to Curves for over 2 years. Anyway, a few who were there last night remember and saw us together. It felt good ... sort of like, see? It can get better.

But of all the muscle groups worked in the circuit at Curves, I noticed the abs were the ones least able to be affected by the machines (one size fits all hydraulic machines). So sis and I got on the floor and did the kind I used to do when I taught aerobics (lots of isometric, pushing the small of the back down the the floor while squeezing abs tight). Because for me as a big woman, I can't get the range of motion needed precisely because there is too much of me blocking the way!!

But I am going to keep an eye out for the ab roller and see if I can have a backup machine to use at home!

Thanks for the update, K!

Yep... and I sort of wonder because the staff are only minimally trained. They often don't have any idea what muscles are supposed to be targeted, how to adjust for injuries or height or, in my case, weight issues. They don't know alternatives or harm that can come from improper use. And many of the clients are working out for the first time.

But... in the long run, and over a large population, I believe the organization results in better health for a large group of people.

I wish more gyms would focus on the 80% of Americans who do NOT work out, instead of the 10-20% who do. If there were more activities for more moderate workouts... ah well. I can get on a real roll here...
