| new to this part of the forum so allow me to introduce myself.
hello ladies amd gentlemen of the eating disorder part of sober recovery, My name is chris and I am known around here as the king and I am posting here because of my diet as it currently stands I am in ALOT better shape then I was 6 weeks ago and I feel great, however it is getting harder to keep going, I am starting to miss my favorite foods, as I cant eat them as much as I used to, I am starting to have INTENSE cravingsfor pizza, cake, chips, coke etc, things that I used to eat3-5 times a week instead of once-twice a month now so I need to know, when it gets hard what keeps you going? I dont wanna be the 160 pound guy I once was (I wouldnt mind if it was muscle but it was ALL FAT) but it's keep getting harder and the cravings are getting more and more intense. by the way160 is an estimate it could have been 170-180 (well proably not 180 but 170 is is VERY POSSIBLE.) |

Hi Chris and Welcome to the Eating Disorders Forum. I hope that you'll come here as often as possible and keep us updated on your progress. I don't really have any answers for you right now, but I do know that with time it gets easier and easier. You don't have to do it perfectly all of the time. It's progress, not perfection that counts. It's important for me to not look at it like foods I CAN'T have, but for some specific reasons, I prefer not to eat or not to eat as often. Attitudes are certainly key to success and Don't ever give up and quit is just as important key to success. That's all I have to share right now, but I know that others will be along later to share with you. Keep coming back.

Well, welcome to this forum. I have to agree with Nina, that it is all about attitude and choices we make on a daily basis. It's not about depriving ourselves of these foods, but more about giving our bodies healthy choices with a good eating plan. That doesn't mean that you can never have those foods. They are available in good portion sizes. Like.... going to a place that sells pizza by the slice, instead of orf\dering a whole pizza that will tempt us to eat more than a healthy portion. Uumm, I know that Healthy Choice frozen foods, and some others too I believe, put out pizza meals. And as for cakes and other sweet goodies, there are some choices available that are very tasty and won't harm your food plan. There are plenty of sugar free yummies available on the market today.....you find them at grocery stores. You really don't have to deprive yourself of treats and fav. foods as long as you use common sense about it.
