| abstinance - 3 meals only - need e-mail friend/sponser
hi all -- i am new to these boards. i started on-line weightwatchers in january and have done great so far. i realized a couple of months ago that i needed more then the food program cause it wasn't dealing with my food addiction. i also realize that i must stick to 3 meals a day in order to prevent a binge and, that i need some help. i found this board today and was wondering if there is anyone who would be interested in being a friend as well as recovering from this addiction together. if so, please e-mail me at dorjes@aol.com and put 3 meals into the subject line so i don't delete you by accident.

dorjes - Hi and welcome to SR. this is a great place for support and friendship. Sounds like you are identifying the situation and ready to get help, that is a great thing. I am a recovering drug addict who has been blessed to have 7 1/2 years clean and sober, about 3 years ago food became my addiciton. I am an emotional eater and I use food to punish myself when I am disappoint myself and things like that. I am working on it everyday and feeling better everyday. Have you thought about OA! That is a good place to get support and work through issues with others, just a thought. Being in recovery from drugs and alcohal I am using the tools to deal with my food issues also. I hope to hear from you more, and again welcome to SR.

Hello Pauline, Thank you for replying to my post and for the suggestion. I had gone to OA many years ago but that particular group wasn't for me. i work full time and have a long commute and am the single mom of two kids so time isn't always on my side. i recently found on-line oa meetings and am hoping to find a sponser to help me with these issues. hopefully i am able to find someone that is willing to invest the time in me. in the meantime i will continue to seek the help that i need. i am also familiar with the steps as my ex is a recovering alcoholic and i spent some time in al-anon when he first got sober. congrats on recovering from the drugs and alcohol and i am sure you will also stay sober from the food. |
