Smile Updates

Hi Guys,

I have been off on holiday for a couple of weeks, so I thought that I would come in with a quick update.
Things are ok, not really good, but not bad either. For about a month there I was doing really well, eating lots of fruit and drinking plenty of water and going for walks.
These past two weeks, the fruit has gone, the water is going and there haven't been that many walks either, however, I am still doing a lot better than I was even two months ago.
I have decided that instead of comparing my actions to the ideal, perfect picture of healthiness and fitness, I instead compare my actions now to the way that I have been in the past. This way I can measure my progress and not focus on my failures.
Thanks again for everyone's comments and isn't this a really good place to come and share.
Love in Fellowship,
Val :-)

Hey Val,

Good to hear from you. Remember that it's just one day at a time, and today is all we have to do.

You're worth it!

God bless, Pray Lady

Hey Val,

Good for you that you've been able to maintain a realistic focus. Sometimes we forget that, believe it or not, relapse to old habits is part of the process. The key is to realize a slip doesn't have to end up a full blown relaspe, with all new things lost. I'm asking only because you didn't say, what happened to change the fruit ? The water ? The walks ? Each one of these can be a large enough issue to address on their own, combined, they can be very overwhelming. It's a tall order to maintain focus when a 'slip' happens, let alone three. I think it's awesome that you're able to maintain a clear vision. It sounds like you're not beating yourself up for what's not going right, you're just looking at what is.

Peace and blessings,

firefly
