Life is to short to let others get in your way. Too many of us (including myself) allow others to steel our dreams. We allow those who have no knowledge or understanding, beat us down and tell us we can't. We listen to thier negative attitudes and allow that to decide or futures. Well,I say our futures are completely in our own hands. "They" don't make us eat that last little cookie, we do that. We have a disease that has do with food. A complusive habit to calm our nerves and handle stress by eating. "They" don't help us by adding to that stress with thier "health food advice". Although maybe well meaning we all know that people that have never had to deal with this problem are probably not the best people to invest our recovery in. Here on this page, and in programs such as OA and Weight Watchers, we can all come together in support and raise each other's self-esteem in order to help one an other reach that goal-----that dream. Hi all, It may seem like the taste is what's drawing us, but whenever we eat if we're not actually physically hungry (including still eating when we've had enough) there is an emotional reason behind it. Even boredom! We just need to learn how to deal with those feelings without having "a party in our mouths." I've been reaching for food the last few weeks instead of reaching for love. My water intake has been way down, and I've wanted to eat something away. I'm still feeling overwhelmed about school last semester and wondering where this education will take me. There are a few people who are pushing me to go in a direction that I don't want to go in and I'm trying to not be pushy back but stand my ground and let it be OK that I don't know exactly where I'll end up yet.
