i just joined this forum, hope u can help me.. i guess im a food addict, i only recently found out that it's a serious problem, before i thought i just loved food more than someone else.. i dont binge all the time, but at times, when im stressed, bored etc, i do it, a lot! i noticed that this problem is getting worse, i started eating for hours until i dont feel physically sick. i definetely want to stop this, but it feels such a hard thing to do for me! i started readin some books about this subject, but still it's as if i didnt really want to recover, the idea of stop eating all that "lovely food" is scaring... any useful ideas/tips that could help? thanx!! Hi KaTe and Welcome to the Eating Disorders Forum of SR. I'm glad that you found us here. I too, am a food addict and a compulsive overeater. It sounds like you are an emotional eater like I am. I love food alot and I also overeat when I'm dealing with any extra emotions, whether they be happy or sad. So I do understand what you're trying to say and how you feel. They're are alot of wonderful people on this forum who will be along later to share their experience with you. Please keep coming back here and reading & posting as often as possible. It really does help. Also read the Stickys at the top of this page. They are chock full of information.

it's good to know that im not the only one with this problem-and that lots of people successfully recovered! Can you tell me what kind of carbs are "safe"? i know i should avoid refined carbs, but can i eat things like brown rice? and what about potatoes? It is so confusing!! |
