Unhappy kind of new, && battling.

Well first off, i started out in friends && family because i needed support with my Aex-bf. I've battled anorexia for about 12 years && bulimia for 8 years. For the past 2 years when i was with my Aex-bf i was really dedicated to recovering, but it was harder than it sounded. And i relasped a number of times. I was doing REALLY good, up until things got really bad with my alcoholic ex && i pretty much relasped && stopped eating && taking my anti-depressents. I finally ate last night and now i feel HORRIBLE, and i dont just mean i feel bad for eating, i mean my body feels physically sick now. I have had a migrain all day && i have been nauses. I feel fat and gross and horrible... && more than that i feel guilty because i am so angry at my Aex-bf for being addicted to something over me and here i am starving myself.

GI, I am glad you have found your way into this forum. There are others, as you may know, that struggle with your very same issues. I, personally am on the end of those issues...as I am emotional overeater and more than a little overweight. Although our issues are different, I can understand the frustration that goes along with our knowing that we are struggling in our programs.

ARe you seeking out help with this, other than coming here and posting? Getting some professional help and some f2f support is a good idea. You already know that starving yoruself is an unhealthy approach for your body. Just as overeating is an unhealthy approach for mine. The food issues and eating behaviors are only a sympton that something more to the core is wrong and we need to find healthier ways of dealing with that.

GirlInterrupted,
Welcome to the Eating Disorders Forum of SR. I'm glad that you came here. I see that as a first serious step to your reaching out for recovery once again. It's a start. I, like Pony, am an emotional overeater that is overweight at this time, although in process of losing weight. Progress; Not Perfection is one of the slogans in the Overeater's Anonymous Program. It's a 12-step program for people with Eating Disorders, whatever category that you might fit into. We all have to work on what's eating us down deep inside to be able to understand why we use food or try to control our food, to deal with our troubles. I hope that you will look for a meeting in your area and go to at least 6 meetings before you decide whether or not it is for you. I agree that you might be helped alot by finding a couselor too.
No matter what you decide to do or when, I hope that you will keep coming here to share and to vent and let us support you and we could use your understanding and support also. There are others that do come here that have been or are going through the same ED that you are dealing with. There are also some very informative Stickys at the top of this page that deal with your particular EDs. I hope that you'll take the time to check them out. I think that you'll find them profitable. Hang in there and go towards recovery for you, with conviction. (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
