I just wanted to welcome you Firefly. You're most welcome to come here and share all of your feelings here. Maybe they can help others as much as we can help you. Talking about issues helps ourselves to see what we need for ourselves, as well as letting others know that they are not alone in thier pain. Keep posting. Pony

Hello Pony, Thanks for the welcome :^} For the last year or so, I've been drawn back more and more to talking about being a survivor of eating disorders. I had been in Al-Anon for years & private therapy too, yet, I have never focused attention on the eating disorders themselves. Many things have popped up, starting with a fellow student presenting her own history as a class presentation to the human biology class during which she made statements I didn't agree with ( like SHE will always have issues with food because ALL Anorexics do.) I know its denial to think all issues have just disapeared, and I don't think that's what happens. I do believe, like any addiction, it is possible to survive and move beyond former behaviors to achieve health, and that survivors needn't be summerized by their addiction. We are all more than the sum total of our parts. Thanks for giving me a chance to vent, |
