to my night-time eating. Literally in the middle of the night. I have had a problem with this off and on for as long as I can remember. Either I'm up late, like now, and start feeling really hungry (I can't fall asleep if I'm feeling hungry), or I wake up and get up and go eat. I don't go and stuff myself, but my favorite thing to eat is 3 or 4 teaspoons of almond or peanut butter with some honey, (no bread, just the nutbutter and honey on a spoon), and a glass of milk. Also when I stop using, my appetite starts to increase. Again I don't stuff myself and eat alot of junk food, but I tend to gain weight very easily. It is very frustrating. Once I start that night-time eating it is really hard for me to break the habit. Does anyone else struggle with this? Juls |

Hey Juls, I'm asking 'cause you didn't say, has something changed recently that has you up later than usual ? Is there something, more than what you're already dealing with, that's stressing you out so that it wakes you up ? To qoute, "Once I start that night-time eating it is really hard for me to break the habit." I agree that it's R E A L L Y hard to break a habit that's had years of learning. I also know that, for me, my old habits surface when stress increases. Once I realize what I'm doing, then I can start looking at what's really going on and deal with what's causing the stress, instead of doing things I know punish me more than they help me. I hope this helps a little, peace, firefly |

Hey Juls, So, this time, were you already asleep and then you woke up, or were you awake, up late and got hungery ? I'm asking cuz sometimes it helps to break things down to the smallest steps possible. I'm glad you're here and talking. Peace, firefly |

Actually, It's both. But I did good last night. I didn't wake up and go eat, and I didn't eat anything late. I actually went to bed at a decent hour for a change, and slept all night. I'm going on a cruise in July, and I really would like to lose some weight. I'm going to start walking to get some exercise. Juls |

Oh Juls... I am a nightowl eater myself. I think it's because the cover of night is so... calming?secretive? No one is there to watch me eat or tell me when I should stop eating. I feel like time is standing still sometimes. Also, I can't sleep (usually ) at night and I tend to get really bored and consequently get into mischief. Before I went into "seclusion" as I like to call it here at my parent's house 2 months ago, My routine was thus for years and years... Get up, Binge/purge sleep for 2 more hours, go to work (binge/purge 2-3 times during my shift) come home around 1130pm Binge/purge. Then after that last purge it was time to start drinking and smoking pot. Then, I'd go to a club and usually ride the night out snorting some coke. I would get home around 7am, start a binge/purge session and the cycle would start again. This has been going on since 1992. Pretty pathetic. I can't believe I'm still alive. My mom calls me a cat because I have so many lives. These past 2 years have been a lot better than the rest because I got a good job and was forced to limit my partying, however, I still continued to purge @ work and my boss's eventually caught on and began to look at me ahhh--very distatefully. OOps. That damn lettice that pops back up in the toilet... Well, enough of this ... I have been drinking a lot of tea and water and reading to pass the night hours. No more mischief for me, you know?? p.s. I am very hungry too.
