Topic: Do Birds Binge And Purge?

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people like
you here in SR I havent had a drink of
alcohol since 8-11-90. For that im
truely grateful.

Ok, I think my love bird has an eating
disorder...lol He's so cute but i am
wondering about him...He's not sick,,,,
He eats well with his bird food...but
im noticing him purging his food...
he used his feet to help.

Its gross....Im not however making light of
the disease members have with binging
and purging....A few times trying it myself
in the past...i couldnt stay with it... and tried
things from fingers to spoons with nothing
to keep me intersted in it. Thank my HP.

Anyway....it nothing to get too alarmed about
and will ask the next time i go to the pet store.

I went to my pet store a week ago
to inquire about what my love bird
was doing....I explained about him
gagging himself to throw up on his
foot and making a mess of the cage.

They informed me that my love bird
is showing affection to me....HA..!

WHAT??? They naturally do this similar
to what cats do if they r outside...they go
find rats, mice, snakes...whatever and bring
the present to the door for u....

and so my little Peady loves me and needs
attention....see i have the love bird and
cockatiel in the same cage and the cockatiel
passed away not too too long ago.....

So Peady misses him i guess....

Anyway....i just thought id pass that
along to u in case u were wondering...lol

thanks for sharing. It's funny what nature does. Guess that proves that emotions are a part of nature and even animals are affected.

lol id like to get Peady another friend but my husband says no.... : (

But i understand his reasoning on this one... No more mess...lol
