| Throwing out the scale..
I suffer from anorexia and bulimia. I need to get rid of my scale. My weight is up; I'm restricting and weighing myself ALL the time. Any advice on how to get rid of that "evil" piece of equipment?? Liz |

When I need to get rid of something that I don't really want to get rid of, I have to run in immediately before having time to talk myself out of it and throw it away quickly. Maybe you could get someone to get rid of it for you or you could take like a sledge hammer and immediately break it and then throw it away. LOL !!! After all, you would even relieve some of your frustration where this is concerned. Maybe you could see it as your actual body image problem and while smashing it, visualize that you are destroying your eating disorder. Just trying to come up with some ideas for you to consider. I hope that you accomplish this first step toward freedom from this great bondage. ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))

I threw my scale out about 6 months ago. I told someone in the program about my obsession with it, then I said that I think I need to just throw it out and they said to do it. I went home immediately, got it from my house and threw it in the dumpster out back. Life is much better without it in my house.

I, on the other hand have just recently bought a new one. It not only tells you your weight, it also measures your body fat percentage & your hydration level. It so far has been an encouragement to me. I wish you luck with getting rid of yours. I have a hard time not stepping on mine daily. The good thing about the new one of mine, though, is that it weighs the same day or night. The body fat & hydration levels is what changes throughout the day, with night time being the best time to weigh. That is the most accurate due to your body being hydrated. Anyway, sorry to ramble on.
