Hello everyone! First, let me introduce myself. My name’s Jocelyn and I am the author of an upcoming guide on how to get rid of compulsive gambling. I've been watching your discussions for some time now and I must really congratulate everyone for the community spirit that's being encouraged here. Today, I finally decided to stop lurking and start posting . I’d like to bring my own small contribution to this wonderful community. And I’d like to start today by challenging everyone to answer two very important questions: 1) What are your biggest fears and frustrations? What is the worst thing about being a problem gambler? What is it that makes you want to quit? And, most importantly, in what ways has gambling affected your life? What have you been missing in life because of your problem? 2) What are your positive expectations? Imagine this…what if a wizard came to you and told you he could instantly cure you of your gambling problem? What will your life look like, if you were completely free from gambling…and if you had the certainty that you’ll never relapse again? What are the rewards you expect to show up in your life when you quit gambling? Now, the explanation… Addiction experts say that if you can visualize the rewards of quitting, you can boost your motivation levels by dozens. This is called the Law of Clarity in the field of self-development. When you can see your target really clearly, it is much easier to hit it. Does this make sense? I hope it does. Moreover, when you consciously realize the penalties of failure and the negative aspects of being addicted, you have a clearer idea of what you are running away from. This also motivates you to run away from it more quickly. So when you achieve clarity about what you are running away from and what you are moving towards, your journey becomes easier and a bit more enjoyable. So right now, I’m challenging you to honestly answer the two questions above. What are your biggest fears? How about your positive expectations? After you face both the good and the evil, you’ll realize that you’ve made a very important step towards the liberty you’re longing for. That’s it for now. Hit the “Reply” button and share your thoughts. As soon as I read your replies, I’ll be more than happy to discuss them with you. Best wishes, Jocelyn |
