| My Higher Power Is Able
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> I have seen the miracles that my Higher Power can do ... I am sure by now I have been coming here and posting enough that you all probably know that my Higher Power is God ... and from my heart I speak of what God has done ... Here is just one of the many miracles I have witnessed ... may it build and strenghten your faith. Nov 30th 1991 Scott went to work on his van that was at a friends house ... it is a windy day in Cali ... the Santa Ana's are blowing ... Scotty jacks up his van, props the other side of the van up on an old coutch out in the yard ... I get a phone call from his friend asking me if Scotty was allergic to penicilin (sp?) I thought it was a joke because Scotty had been having a difficult time urninating ... so I thought the guys were just goofin' off making jokes like he had some kind of infection or an STD (I know not funny, but you know men) ... I chuckled and told him No that Scott wasn't allerigic to anything that I know of ... and then he hung up ... a few minutes later he called me back and I could tell something was wrong ... I asked him what was going on .. and he said, well you know Scotty came to work on the van ... and I said yes ... he said ... um, well ... (and a feeling came over me) and I said the van fell on him .. and his friend said yes ... he told me that the wind blew real hard and the propped up side came down on Scotty ... the ambulance had came and taken him to the hospital ... Scotty was under the van, remained concious til the ambulance got there and then he went unconcious ... I called some christian friends and they came and got the kids so I could go to the hospital ... Once I arrived the doctor came in to talk to me ... He told me that it didn't look very good and that Scotty was in a coma ... he had been under the van without oxygen and they weren't sure if he was going to live or not and "if" he did they weren't sure if he would be brain damaged ... I went into the room to see Scotty and he was on oxygen, tubes coming out of everywhere ... I talked to him and prayed for him ... and stayed with him for awhile until late and went to pick up our children ... later on I woke up around 2 something in the morning and I had this terrible feeling and I felt so sick to my stomach ... I could feel that something wasn't right ... I just started praying and praying for Scott The next day was a sunday ... I decided I would go to church and then go to see Scotty ... After church I went to the hospital and the nurses confessed that they had not expected him to live through the night, but he did ... and later the doctors told me that he had punctured one lung ... and had no broken bones, but now the other worry was that he'd could get pnuemonia or could go into shock... he was far from out of the woods ... After all was said and done ... Scotty came out of it, but didn't have any movement in his right arm ... and they weren't sure if he would get full use of it back ...He did The doctors shared with me that it was a miracle that he survived ... because they had an 18 yr old kid that a car fell on and he didn't make it .. Scotty was much older and was drinking alcohol and using meth ... He fully recovered ... I thought it would be the turning point in his life, but he didn't even remember what happened ... I was told the brain blocks out tramatic experiences ... I guess the miracle was for me to appreciate ... It strengthened my faith and belief ... and I saw for myself the power of God ... the hospital bill was unbelievable ... If I can remember correctly it was a hundred thousand dollars plus ... There was no way we could pay that kind of money ... I prayed about it and called the billing dept ... and told them that we were a very poor family and the lady said she would send me out a form to fill out and maybe the hospital would help take care of the bill ... I filled out the form and a week later I received another piece of mail that looked like a bill and when I opened it ... at the end of the bill the balance was ZERO ... I have seen miracle after miracle ... God is able ... He is worthy of trust ... I don't believe in happenstance ... but I believe in the power of God and in Divine intervention ... I am a walking miracle because it wasn't until I prayed with a ripe heart that I was able to get clean and remain clean ... God isn't the big bad guy in the sky out to get us .. He is a loving God and all things are possible with God ... Where humans can't ... GOD CAN. He isn't just my God or Joe Smoes ... He is your God and if you let him he can show you the beauty of his love and with your own eyes you will see the miracles of a total Awesome and Powerful God. He is the way, the truth and the life. The truth shall set you free, Passion

Four years ago, my mother in law was in a car accident. She was 76 at the time. She smoked cigarettes for over 45 years and had the beginning stages of emphysema. What had happened to cause the accident is this... As she was driving down a 2 lane road in Maine, she had a stroke while doing about 60 MPH. A witness said he had seen her go about 200 feet along side the edge of the road before she put the car head first into a tree. No seat belt but the air bag stopped her from going out the windshield. Banged her head on the ceiling of the car, the windshield and they believe on the side post as well. Broken ribs, ruptured spleen, collapsed lungs, left arm broken, right hip broken, left leg broken. Help was at her side within 2 minutes. The witness who was the only house within 200 yards of where she crashed was on his way out for vacation. 2 minutes later, he would not have been there. Fire dept was but 1 mile down the road and the arrived in record time. Help was at her side and the help that was there was beyond the help that the firemen could give. My MIL was airlifted to central Maine Med. She was in a coma and not expected to live past the night. Here at the house, at the hour the call came in from the Maine police, all were at work but me, my FIL, and my Marine son who happened to be home on leave that week. I sleep days and if not for my son being here, my 79 year old FIL would have been the one who answered the phone. All family members called and about 25 of us head up to Maine (6 hour ride from here) All in a state of shock you could say but 3 of us. The 3 who are believers and followers of the Lord. We had a peace and acceptance of what may be and we knew that no matter what, we would get through this. A few prayers from us and many prayers from my church prayer team. As it was, Wed, happens to be our prayer meeting day. The very last call before heading out for Maine, was to the church. At 7 PM prayers start. At 7 PM the Dr was stepping into my MIL’s hospital room. The Dr was going to prep her for surgery in less then 10 minutes at that point. When the Dr checked her before taking her to surgery, the Dr was heard to say… Well we won’t need do that surgery, she is improving. 3 weeks in Maine and then 2 months in the rehab hospital, then home come my MIL. To see her today, you would never know she was ever in such a car accident. Those who don’t know the Lord looked at it as…. Chance, even when every fact you could read in most medical books say she should not be alive. Those of us who know Jesus, know what truly happened. Help was at her side the whole time. His hand and help. Miracles are for believers, for those who don’t believe, even reject the unexplained that can only be explained as… God still does miracles.
