Forgiveness

I know I have read and heard a million times that in order for God to forgive us for our wrong doings, we need to forgive others who have wronged us. I'm having a hard time with this. My exabf has stolen things from me on more than one occassion and even though most of those things are replaceable I still feel deeply hurt by it. Just this morning I noticed all of my videos and dvd's were gone, he's only been out of my house for 6 days, so I know it had to have been recent that he took them. Something as silly as as videos has gotten me so angry with him. I don't know if I can forgive him for this. How do you forgive someone who doesn't deserve it, or hasn't tried to make ammends, heck he hasn't even admitted he took them. Am I offending God by not wanting to forgive him for this or is it acceptable to ask that God help me find the forgiveness in my heart to let this go. Any thoughts?

How does God forgive me or you? We don't deserve it but still He not only forgives us, He died on the cross for us.
So for us to forgive others, I say you have a GREAT idea there...With His love we can forgive others.
Yes ask for His help in finding the love inside to forgive others when we don't feel it or have it ourselves.

Thanks Best! I will continue to ask God for help with this. I guess what I'd really like is if my exabf would ask for God's forgiveness on his own, so maybe I'll pray for that also.

Yes and I will add a prayer to your prayer.

Cory Ten Boone was a prisoner in WW2. She was held by the germans.
Her book gives a great understanding of seeking God's love so we can use His love to forgive others.

Cory Ten Boone, in her book "The Hiding Place,"

Maybe a trip to the library will allow you to read her story in print.
