Wow that is neat. It changes.
Was thinking a thread with favorite verses is what was being started when I had first seen it.

What a wonderful idea.
Thank you

Does anyone want to share their favorite bible verse?

I'll share a few that really touch me....

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. - John 15:5

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. - John 15:7

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. - 1 John 4:4

I'll share more later.

Love,
Hope

Psalm 40 verses 1-8 is my favorite.
There are many that when I hear them, they bring a smile but Psalm 40 is my life story.
(paraphrased)
He pulled me out of the mud and mire.
Set my feet upon the Rock.
Placed a new song on my lips.
Many are the things the Lord has done for me.
If I had 1000 years, it wouldn't be enough time to tell of them all.

To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal ...
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance ...
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

ecclesiastes 3:1-8

This is the BIBLE'S answer to me for on acceptence.

This is the BIBLE'S answer to me for on acceptence.
Had just finished reading my bible for the morning. Was maybe week 2 after buying my very first bible. Just after reading the above chapter and verses and putting the bible down... My attention returned to the TV. A commercial was on for oldies song CD. The song that was being played at that very moment... Turn Turn Turn by the Byrd.
YIKES! WOW! AWSOME! Wait a minute? WOW!
Having listened to that song so many times over the years and always liked it but I didn't have a clue that it was bible verses made into a song.

The next week as I was on the phone with a friend and she was telling me where I was wrong in my thinking about creation vs evolution. Just after hanging up the phone and going to my mail box... US News &World report cover story... Creation vs evolution.

The week after that as we were talking over another subject of debate and after putting the phone down, I went for the mail. Again the cover story matched the topic we were talking on. I still have that news mag as well.
The topic ... Hell ( a new vision of the netherworld)
Coincidence one time... ok so maybe two times... But 3 times?
OK Lord you have my full attention now. By the end of the month I had read through the whole bible, cover to cover.

The whole Bible??

I had to get a Modern News bible for the old Testament. I've been trying to read it daily and The old version left me not able to really understanding everything I was reading.

I've been thinking about people a lot that, I haven't seen in a while. Every time, I've done that the past few months, I've ran into the person i was thinking about. When, you don't see someone for several months or a year and you think, I wonder how they are and TA DAH you see them

*ONE* of the awful things 'bout recovery or being an addict is that we lose so much .... not just ourselves .... or belief in ourselves .... but also in our faith. I'm not proud to say that (not at all) .... do you think it's perhaps because we are living with so much guilt over what we've done to ourselves and others and that we feel we may NOT be worthy of his love or forgiveness.

Would appreciate your thoughts on this! Am I alone in what I'm feeling?

Thanking you in advance!

What I feel and what is truth are not always the same.

All who come before Jesus are worthy of His grace and love. All who ask of Jesus for His forgiveness are worthy to be forgiven.
Not because of what we can do, have done, or have not done but because of what Jesus has done for us.
We are worthy because Jesus said so.
We are worthy because Jesus loves us so much that He gave His life on the cross for our sins.
I may not feel worthy but because of my trust in what Jesus has done for me, I know I am worthy in His eyes.

That was so beautiful ...... Thank YOU for sharing that.

I will find his glory once again ...... I KNOW I WILL ...... now that I am sober! I know he forgives us of all sins ....... now I must work on forgiving myself

That was great inspiration to get my day started! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Great Thread here is one of my favorites.

Psalm 100 (1-5)

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness:come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generation.

At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth ~~~Job 5:22

Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. ~~~Deuteronomy 5:33

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.~~~ Matthew 22: 37-39

I am still tring to find my way around this site. Someone once asked me if I believe I am forgiven. Why yes, of course Christ died for my sins. Then who are you not to forgive yourself? That put it into perspective for me. I try much harder now to accept the things I have done as the past and move forward. Satan is the one who reminds you of all the crap you pulled while using. It says something in the Bible about your sins being seperated from you as far as the east from the west and the bottem of the ocean. Anybody know that verse??
Please pray for me, I am detoxing from suboxone. I am feeling stronger tonight. I finally slept awhile. Thank God for church today!!
