Every time, I think about the Passion of Christ and knowing that was only a movie that, it was more painful to have been hung on that cross, I just can't comprehend.

Would we give up our child? Some people in might be hard pressed to die for their child.

In the passion movie...
The nails getting pounded in, well I have seen that before to some degree in other movies. Mel Gibson's own hands were used in the close up as the nails were being pounded into the wrists.
The beating, when told of in words, for me wasn't something I really painted a picture in my mind about. Knowing the true history of how the roman's would beat a person and then seeing it on the big screen right in front of me... well a picture is worth 1000 words they say.
I held together pretty much... right up to the point when the captain of the gaurd turned his hand. Upon seeing the hand turn, my thought was....OK good he is saying enough. Stop the beating.
WELL I lost it when I had seen what was next. He wasn't saying enough...He was saying change sides, Now beat the front as well.

*deep breath, pause and regroup myself*

To think that Jesus loves us all so much that He would take such a punishment and pay the price for our sins. A price that was not something He owed but we owe. He paid the full price so that we may live.

I still haven't found the courage to watch this movie.

It's coming back out this weekend. This was the hardest movie for me to watch and not leave.
