blessings and baptism

Hi all,

I wanted to get some opinions on something I've struggled with.

I feel I've received guidance and many blessings from God. I've prayed for faith and acceptance and I feel I've made a lot of progress in that area. In fact, my journey has led me back to the church and in a few weeks I will be baptised, at which point I suppose this question will be moot.

But! Are we somehow blocked from receiving all of God's grace if we haven't been baptised? Am I not eligible to receive all that I'm "entitled" to until I become baptised? Are some of my privileges restricted b/c I'm just a guest and I haven't completely registered with him yet?

I heard a sermon the other day where the minister said that one cannot receive a full healing from God if they haven't been baptised. He stressed the importance of it.

?????

Growing up in the Christian faith, I was taught he that believes and is baptised shall be saved.

I was baptised as a child. Might be good to be baptised again

Once youve accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior the Angels are celebrating, and you are saved by his grace, babtism is an extra bonus, you are already getting the babtism so rejoice and accept the Blessings!

I've thought about this myself JG. I don't think you have to be baptized to be saved, but all my healing didn't start until after I was baptized. I also learned a mountain of truth after that.

It is just something I noticed and I don't know if it means anything. It might have been that I was really getting serious about God at the time and made the change from receiving his blessing to giving my life to him so that he could do his work in me. Maybe it was coincidence.

Being baptized is a public confession of our faith. I believe that even the angels are a witness. It identifies us with Christs death, burial, and resurrection.

I wish I could be there

I don't know exactly how or why, but I do know that there was a DEFINITE difference in my life after I went through my public confession of Christ and water baptism.

I am happy for you and hope you have a friend or family member to share this experience with you. If not, you will have the Father, Son and Holy Spirit there!

Oh wow, thanks everyone - I wish you all could be with me too.

I'm very much looking forward to it. I feel like I finally get to give back in praise and thanks for everything I've already been given. And if it opens up a whole new world of truth and healing for me, wow, I can't wait!

By all means I think you should be baptised, see John 3;16, from what I have learned in my bible studies baptism is one of Gods means of grace, just like the sacrament of the alter or holy communion where we recieve the true body and blood of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. In baptism we are united with Christ thru his death and ressurection. He took our sins for us and suffered for us! Just as all men died thru one man (adam) all can live thru one man (Christ) I'm happy for you that you are doing this . God bless NLIC

We will be with you

When a part of the body feels the sun hit and the warmth of the sun... the whole body knows and feels the warmth.

Scripture says baptise them with water and it also says that God will baptise us with the Holy Spirit.
The water baptisim is an outward sign to the world. It is our telling the world we accept Jesus. A public proclamation. A Shouting to the world what is in our heart.
Scripture says we should be water baptised.
What I found in my own personal growth.... After the water baptisim, I started to feel as though I was growing more spiritually. That one piece of change is enough for me to say... Yes we should be baptised.
