Blog Entries: 3 | A true story how God spoke to me
I decided to share this.A little over 5 years ago I met a woman and feel in love.Everything was perfect, and I loved her very much.We decided to get married and set a date for July 15th,2000. On June 25th, 3 weeks before our wedding day she went with her mother for some burgers. They decided to start drinking instead. On the way back she lost control of the car and was killed instantly.http://www.co.washington.or.us/sheri...a/ftl_1car.htm I was totally devasted to say the least.I have allways believed in God,and knew that night she was in Heaven with Jesus. However,I was having a real hard time accepting her death.I decided to commit suicide so I could be with her.I mentioned this to someone and they said I should wait 30 days and see if I still felt the same way then.30 days later,I still felt the same.It was july 28th,2000.Her birthday and a Friday.I decided it was a good day to be with her again. So,I went and bought a shotgun. No ten day waiting period.I also made arrangements to go to a preachers house for dinner and to be babtized that evening.I was actually convinced as a beleiver God would understand. So,there I was on my way to this preachers house in my truck with my shotgun behind the seat.I was at a stop light and looked accross the street and couldnt believe my eyes.I saw a guy in his 30's with long hair and a beard. He was wearing a shroud and walking barefoot in the gravel.Dragging a cross the size of my truck.I thought I was seeing things.I also broke down into tears.I went to the preachers and had dinner, then called a friend and offered him a free shot gun.I later found out this guy does this every year.I have never met him but would like to.I have no doubt this was not a coincidence.God was telling me Jesus died on the cross for me.And I had no right to take my own life.My girlfriends mother, who survived the accident and lost her only daughter had also told me when ever I needed to hear from God to take a bible close my eyes and pray, then to ask God for a verse. That night I tried it.I open the bible to Matthew Ch.5 and read "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" I will never forget that day as long as I live.God spoke to me that day.

OH MY GOSH! What a horrible, yet inspiring story. Michael Michael Michael. Thank you for sharing. I know this time of year, celebrating Jesus's birth can be hard for some because of the memories. But, wow... I am going to celebrate Jesus's birth with a new memory this year... your story. Thank you so much for sharing.

God is all around us, if we just take the time to see him at work. That is a beautiful example, and I am very happy that you did not take your life that day. One of my favorite verses, passed on to me by my mother is Romans 8:28. And we know that all things work together for good to those that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose. This verse has gotten her through alot of hard times. He's there for us, we just need to believe, and ask. Good post Michael.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us. Many times I have wanted to just end it. Usually just over my gold plated problems. I need to remember that vivid picture you described. Thanks.

Mike that's a tough story you shared. You touched more people then u can possibly know. I do believe, this is the only thing that keeps me sane in a world that's filled with hate. The signs are always there, we have to look for them. No one knows why bad things happen to good people. We shouldn't Q. God in his wisdom. I know, when we say the little saying if, "GOD PUTS US TO IT, GOD WILL PUT US THROUGH IT" YOUR TIME IS HERE ON EARTH TO DO WHAT GOD'S WILL FOR YOU ISN'T DONE. That's why we should pray everyday for God's will for us. This helps us through out the day. As your faith in God grows, so does your strength in him. chris

A couple of years ago, I read about someone finding a peeny and thinking of a dead relative. Pennies from Heaven, was the story. Since I read that story, when I find a penny I pick it up. The reason I pick it up is, on the coin it has the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the coin. The monetary value of a penny is not much. The reason I do this is because, it reminds me to bend down and be humble before God. Last year I went to a UNIVERSITY of ILLINOIS foot ball game. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the tailgating. Everyone I saw was drinking. I went into the stadium and was thinking I need a penny. At half time I got up to get a soda. I came back to my seat for the second half, there's a penny in my seat. I didn't have any change in my pocket so, it didn't fall from my pockets. Mike, you saw a man that was dressed like Jesus at a sad time in your life. Many of us go through life looking for a burning bush. The signs are there. We just need to believe.

Mike, sometimes it seems like we have a cross to bear. Glad Jesus already did this for us. In the safety of our homes we can say prayers and have faith. We have to keep in mind to take God with us all day long. Our days go so much better when we do

Time2Surrender, That was a great event to share. I also thought but, acted on killing myself. I took a bottle of Percocet. Strange but, like you, I look back and can see it wasn't the answer I thought it was at the time. I didn't see a sign like you did. He blessed me with my life but, gave me some "tuff love", passing charchol for 3 or 4 days that had been pumped into me, and having tubes stuck threw my nose. Don W
