I chickened out and got a refill on this Norco that I have been prescribed and my "plan" was to taper down. Well, needless to say I tapered like a champ (chump) and I am back where I started. I have about 7 pills left and plan on taking them in halves when it gets really bad. I know this sounds desperate and panicky, but does anyone know what options I could pursue? It would be so hard to go into an inpatient detox. I was thinking of asking the prescribing doc to give me some help on getting off these. I don't know how cool he will be though. I opted out of having surgery because even though I am in pain I know it is not bad enough for surgery and part of me would be doing it for the medicinal aftermath (sick huh). I am also curious if I am in any danger going cold turkey? I have been taking about ten 10/325 Norco a day. Well, I am stressed and rambling so please forgive me. Good night and God bless.

You didn't chicken out honey. You're an addict. Be forgiving with yourself and in time you will get it. My thoughts and prayers are with you Diana

A point of info to think on... Take pain meds long enough and they stop working as intended. 2 becomes 4. 4 becomes 6. Soon enough you have the pain no matter how many are taken. Honesty with the Dr (no matter how they react) is always a good idea. The Dr may have a solution you haven't thought about. Continue to ask of God as well. His strength asked for in prayer. Am always amazed at the outcome of prayer.

slider... Please take this as stern love and no less.. but very seldom can we overcome an addiction by ourselves, this is why there are programs out there like impatient programs with people like us who help ourselves to recover by helping each other,..you've already recognised your symptoms. That is the biggest step of all towards overcoming this addiction By not being able to overcome them by yourself doesn't make you a failure , BUT does make you human..You are a very special person don't ever forget that. The only time you really blew it is when you give up on yourself. and fighting this addiction by yourself will be extremely overwhelming. candy coating the issue or putting it off is not a choice we have. I will keep you in my prayers and just ask you, if you have more on your plate than you can handle alone, please do not be ashamed to look to an impatient program for help, The Lord Blesses us when we help others, and that is how the programs work. May God Bless you Richly |
