I found the steps in the word

Accepting Jesus as Lord and God of my life took care of some steps and as I read God's word I find the other steps.
Here is a bible study outline I did that answered many a question for me.
I hope this brings light to others as it has for me.

Self control
Self Control is a life style and means that we manage our behavior.

GAL. 5:22-25
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

PROV. 4:20-27
20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man’s whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.
24 Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.
27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

2 TIM 2:22-26
22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

2 TIM 3:3-5
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

Search my heart oh Lord and if there be anything sinful within, I ask that You remove it and show me how to better serve you.

My name is Cheryl and I would like to thank you for those scriptures. I attend a 12 step group at my church where we tal about what ever sin or issue we are struggling with that is hindering our walk with God. This is my second time in recovery and the first time I tried the NA way. This time I wanted to put God first and I wanted to be connected to other people that are seriously seeking God. No, I am a long way from being perfect, however I do know that my God is a forginving and loving and patient God. This is my first day posting and I am glad to have read your message. Cherylsolo

Hello Cheryl

AA had it's beginnings as a support group through a church. NA was started to sister the efforts of AA for addicts. Where AA and NA use HP and that HP can be anything you want it to be... well that was so those who don't acknowledge or accept God can find a way out of the trappings of drugs and alcohol.
What you have done by going through your church group….
You have gone back to the roots of how AA started. It worked then and it still works today.
I am happy that the above post is able to touch others as it has touched me.
Look forward to reading what you may wish to share.

God who has created all also has the strength and shares it when we ask, when we don't have the strength ourselves.
When we are weak, He is strong
