| I just said, "Lord it's in YOUR hands!"
As undeserving as I am of God's grace and mercy, when I fall on my knees and simply say, "Lord I can't do this without you," He is right there. A sense of peace comes over me and my fear goes away. Even if I have some lingering fear, I know He is right beside me holding my hand. What an awesome God we have! I cannot explain what happened tonight with my husband, but things had gotten waaayyyy out of control this weekend to the point he was screaming at me and saying some very hurtful, cruel things. I lost it and just started screaming back at him. It wasn't until this evening that I was watching a sermon on t.v. that was discussing marriage. It seemed as if the message was custom-made for me. I just went downstairs and calmly told my husband I wasn't going to let my emotions/feelings dictate what I said. I was going to speak calmly and rationally to him. The Lord was certainly in charge of the situation and my husband opened up like he never has before. If ever "let go and let God" was true, it certainly was in the breakthrough I witnessed tonight. No, I'm not saying my husband is suddenly going to quit drinking, but I think I have far more insight into what compels him to medicate himself with alcohol and what keeps me so codependent. |

prodigal, I understand what you are saying. I went through a similar experience concerning my son. It's still hard for me at times to walk in the new knowledge that I have, but I know when I'm wrong now. I thought I was always right before. I'm so glad you shared this with us. God is good. | Lingering Fear
" Even if I have some lingering fear, I know He is right beside me holding my hand." Today, I am no longer afraid of the fear, that crippled me for so long, and caused me to react the way that I did. Today we can walk through the Valley's, because we have an awesome God, who will never forsake us, or give us more than we can handel.
