Prayer Please!

I am really struggling right now, back on the sober track but need help to keep strong. Have been begging God for help, and know He is there but just seems like he is a long way off right now. I have failed Him so many times-
Just need a fresh touch? Reading in Mark 5:24-34 about the woman with the issue of blood that pushed through the crowd to touch the hem of His garment because she was DESPERATE to be Whole--kinda of the way I feel this week.
Please pray for me I'm at that point of complete desperation! Thanks, Will....

Nice to meet you Luckedog. Sorry you're struggling, but glad to hear you are
on the sober track now. The story about the woman touching the hem of his garment
reminds me of one of my favorite southern gospel tunes...called "the hem of his garment". Keep posting!

:praying

Dear Lord,
Please forgive us our sins Lord, as we know each of us fail you everyday. We thank you that you are a loving and forgiving God.
Thank you for your love, mercy and grace. We thank you that you will strengthen us in our time of need.

Please strengthen Luckedog, and help Luckedog to say no to temptation. Fill Luckedog's heart with your love and desire to grow closer to you.

Life is full of so many choices, Lord, please just help Luckedog to make the choices that would be pleasing to you.

In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.

Hi Luckydog, thought I would post the 3rd Step Prayer for you.

"God, I offer myself to Thee-to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy will always."

I will offer my prayers up for you today.

Will, He knows our form, he knows we fall short daily in thought, word and deed. Just remember the righteous man falls 7 times and gets up 7 times. Don't let the devil rip you off, it is a lie. Jesus Loves you soooo much! Blessings, Sheila

Hi Will. I hope you doing better today. I understand the feeling of separation but it isn't truth.

2 Corinthians 13:5
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Colossians 1:27
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Galatians 2:20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I prayed for you today.

Again, Thank you all so much! I am 'Feeling" much stronger but more importantly, I am GETTING much stronger in the spirit. I have been studying a lot in Jn. 15. I know that most of my problem is self-sufficiency. I have been thinking I can do it- have come to the realization I CANT!! But thank God HE CAN!!

(Joh 15:5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I work on a daily basis to get closer and closer to Him.

Here's a great one...L,

Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible)

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me.

[I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].

Footnotes:

1. Philippians 4:13 Marvin Vincent, Word Studies.
2. Philippians 4:13 Note that in Phil. 4:11, the Greek autarkas, translated "content," is
literally "self-sufficient."

What I get from this is, regarding self sufficiency..is ..He, helps me to stand.

And in addition to doing for me what I cannot do for myself, helps me to do the

necessary footwork for my recovery.

Wow...

Right on man that's exactly where I'm at today. It just occurred to me however that what I really am without the Lord is a disaster. The 12 x 12 talks about defective relationships......that would be me with almost every relationship I have......defective. With the exception now of one.

And like you I am trying to get closer, it's the only relationship I can count on today.

Keep :praying luckedog. We are right where we are supposed to be brother.

Thanks, ChameleonBoy. You are right on target! It takes a real effort to keep me out of the way so God can work--I am so used to trying to do it my way-- and miserably failing!
IQ you are right too His strength is there for us to use - I love Phil 4:13.
Thanks to you all for the encouragement!!

Oh, so right guys..

Just as no human power could have relieved my alcoholism....none could relieve my

emotional pain and suffering, and fill that empty empty hole inside my heart.

Only One has that power. If we draw close..He is already there..He always was.

Hugs.

"Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
But only he who sees takes off his shoes....
the rest sit around and pick blackberries."

Miriam Mohler

Looking, and listening..taking off my shoes...
