My son has graduated from his 3 month drug program

Hello everyone, I just thought
I would stop by and let you all know that my son is clean and doing well.
He just graduated from his program,
and his counselor told me that he was doing really great,
and he did everything he needed to get well.
He said he was an outstanding patient,
and that he set an example for the newcomers,
and the younger addicts that were coming in.
I am very proud of him, and I know that he is not cured.
However I am thankful, that he is not out using drugs.

This is a big difference from the son who kept leaving one treatment center after the other for the past 2 years. He left 4 of them. And finished none.

Just for today I am so thankful that my son is alive and clean.
He is still in Florida, and staying with my older brother.
He didn't have to go to a halfway house,
and I am thankful for that as well.
My brother and sisterinlaw love him, and are spending time with him.
He is living with my sister and her husband,
and he knows he has to do the right thing,
or he is out the door. Thank GOD for my family.

For the first time in 3 years, he sounds like the boy I always knew.
He is humble, thankful, and he doesn't have that selfish drug addict attitude anymore.
My prayers have been answered.
And my prayers
are for all of the other mothers on this site to have their
children restored to a drug free lifestyle.

I would like to thank all of you here on SR for your guidance and support,
when I was suffering, and frightened. You have all been here for me in my darkest hours.
Thank You all and God Bless You.
I got alot of helpful information, and alot of love and support on this site
You were all so kind and helpful. I will never forget that.
Even though I didn't always like what you had to say,
It made sense and I knew you were right.

Peace and Love to all of you,
wishing you freedom from addiction
and Peace and harmony in your lives.

That is wonderful news! I remember how much you were hurting when you joined SR. As a Mother, I know that when something is going on with one of our kids, it can take over our life, if we let it. As a parent, we are raised to do anything and everything to protect our kids. But when one of them is suffering from addiction, it has to be hard to practice that tough love that we know we have to do in order for them to get the help they need. I've never been through anything like this with my Son, so I can't say that I understand your pain. Especially when you, as a recovering addict yourself, know the pain he was feeling as a result of his disease.

I imagine there's no better feeling than knowing when you put your head down on your pillow at night that your Son is not only safe, he is now Happy, Joyous & Free.

God Bless You, Your Son & the Rest of Your Family.

Love & Blessings,
Judy

Thanks Judy, I love you, and your always there for me.
You turned out to be a really good friend, and just so you know, I have no regrets about dragging my kid out of that crack house. He's been clean ever since.
I refused to give up, and I didn't.

Thank you all for stopping by, Captain Zing, CMC, Impurrfect, and IO Storm, I am thankful that you all took the time to write a few words of support. I appreciate that. I keep on praying for my son.
He is very sorry and regretful for the pain he has caused me.
At least he knows how much I love him. Thanks for listening to me for the past few months. I know I was neurotic. It hasn't been easy on me. I am still trying to recover from the grief and fright that I have been through.
I am trying to put it all behind me. It takes time.

Thank You all so much.

You are a beautiful and strong woman. You've helped and taught me a lot and for that I am eternally grateful.

Your son is so lucky to have a mom like you! Many children don't realize how the power of a praying mom kept them from harms way... it kept children when children couldn't keep themselves. And I thank you for praying for your son and for me.

I'm so happy that he is the exception to the statistic. He's made it! Thank God he's made it!

I have to admit, I made some really great and beautiful friends on this site.
Yesterday,Thank you for your beautiful compliments. I think the same of you my friend. I continue to pray for you and your family, how is your husband doing?
Jsml, your an awesome person, and I admire you.
Captain Zing, you inspire me, by just being yourself.
CMC, you always have something kind and thoughtful to say and I respect your opinions.

Thanks to all of you, I was able to survive the most painful events of my life.
My son is doing great, and he is working a regular job. He is also doing Ilumni and going back to his program to speak to the men, and the newcomers.
He also quit smoking cigarettes.
What a gift to a mom who never smoked.
GOD heard me praying and praying.
My son is also attending Calvary Church
I am proud and Happy. I sure hope it stays this way.

God Bless all of you,

Angelic, I am so happy for your son and you. You must be in awe. This really gives us all hope for our children.... God loves our children and promises to save us and our household. Acts 11:13-15 and Acts 16:31.

Thankyou for your continued prayers for our children Angelic.

God Bless all of the good people on this site who have supported me through my struggle with my sons drug addiction. All of you who listened when I talked about pulling my son out of a drug den in Brooklyn. All who told me that there was alot of hope.
I don't take my sons recovery as though it is a cure. I don't think of it as the end of the struggle with addiction. I know how sneaky drug addiction is, and how it is always subject to relapse. I know that he could go back to that lifestyle at anytime. So I just keep on praying for him. And I hope for the best.

Needing Help and jsml thank you for your kind words. I read in a book called embraced by the light, by Bettie J Eadie, that a mothers prayers are the most powerful, and that they get to GOD the fastest out of all the prayers on the earth.
I like to believe that's true.
I have prayed every day in my church, and at home for my son. And for so many others who are suffering.
And yes Captain Zing, he quit smoking too. He just decided to change his ways. He sounds so good, and I am tempted to take a trip to Florida to visit him. I hated the cigarettes with passion. I guess its because I never smoked them, and I never wanted him to smoke either. He gave them up on his own. Thank You GOD for giving my son back to me.
