Your Life Like a long journey, your life is like a one-way trip on an interstate highway. After a long time on the road, you begin to get tired, you develop "highway" hypnosis. You lose site of where you're going. In life, this feeling of being lost might show up as boredom, frustration, fear, anger, or just plain weariness. This is when you need to stop and relax... rest from your weariness. I like to believe that when you make a "rest" stop on your journey called life... that's when God hits you across the head with the holy spirit. When you stop focusing on "your" life, take your eyes off the road, you see what God has for you and your life. Take your focus off of your highway. Put your eyes on God's super expressway. You'll notice the scenery changes. Your eyes see beauty, life and God's glory in a whole new way. Are you sitting on the shoulder of your journey? Are you in the passing lane suffering from Highway hypnosis? Slow down. Take a break. Take a detour today. God has a new highway (path) for your life. No speed limit. No gas stops. Only a path and a way that will fill you up and over flow your tank. Come on along, I am heading that way myself. 2009© Tim Levin Inspiration List

ray.... We go way back some years now and your sharing never ceases to amaze and bless me. Thanks so much for this particular post...It's exactly where I am right now and what I've been focused on for the last several years of my recovery: Live in today. I've learned in Al-Anon and from experience that losing that focus can not only rob me of purpose but certainly takes the joy out of living the life God gave me. Today I can sit here at my desk, next to an open sliding door to see a cloudless blue sky, butterflies, birds singing, beautiful flowers & bushes in bloom instead of focusing or stressing out over problems either in or out of my own control. If Robert Frost only knew then Robert Frost (1874–1963). Mountain Interval. 1920. 1. The Road Not Taken TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5 Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, 10 And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. 15 I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. I often, take for granted my simplistic life in my rural setting.
