| Prayers Please
For those who don't know, one of my adult children lives at home. She's diabetic, had an emergency tonight; and the EMT's are taking her to the hospital as I type this out. It appears she has food poisoning and this is creating havoc with her blood sugar. They were actually more concerned about the food poisoning aspect of things, which -in a way is a bit of good news. Please pray that the symptoms are easily and quickly controlled and that there will be minimal stress for her and for her dad and I too. I appreciate your prayers. Thanks |

Thanks, she will call when she's able. I'm stressed out...despite that I've been through this so many times before; both with her and another kid too, since they were small. It's been over 27 years since she was diagnosed and her little brother has had it for over 18 years.

She has been admitted for at least a 24 hour stay to make sure she is stable before coming home. As far as I know, there were no diabetic incidents...insulin reactions, seizures or any of the other things that typically happen in these circumstances. I'm worn out, mostly in an emotional sense and I plan to take it easy today. It's been my experience that when things like this happen, there can be some added family stress. For our family this kind of thing used to be typical routine, especially when the kids were growing up and when my son was using. It doesn't happen that often these days; yet even now, when we call 911, the neighbors have become accustomed to it. Btw...the EMT personnel were especially kind and helpful, so I'm also grateful for that. I would very much appreciate your continued prayers. Thanks to God and thanks to all of you who have offered prayers and such wonderful support for me and my family. :ghug |

another update... I'm going over there to bring her some things she forgot to pack. She said that last night her white blood cell count went very high and her temp was over 103 during the night. If all goes well she will be home at this time tomorrow. oh..and one more prayer request that is ongoing but right now needs special attention. Her immediate supervisor at the bank...is being a jerk to my daughter for calling in sick! She's always rude-even to customers! Due to the economic situation her behavior has been very stressful. I'm praying that this boss will either change or be transferred to another branch. "Lord- please 'bless' that lady out of there." Amen. |

I've live most of my life in the sub-tropic South where Southern gentility is rare but still seen sometimes. The Southern way to give a veiled insult to somebody who's not very nice is to say "Well, bless your heart" spoken with the sweetest smile of course. And to think of all thoe people who think they just received a compliment!! (Lord, forgive me...)

Things got a bit worse late this afternoon so she will have to stay on the IV longer and may not come home as planned. She had another high temperature and her blood sugar was up too. Thanks for you continued prayers & support. |
