| IO Storm | Prayers for My Family
All of my uncles have passed. Except my Uncle B. He and Aunt J lived out here in California for several years while I was growing up, and I became close. They moved away a long time ago, and Uncle B came down with Altzheimer's a few years ago. It has progressed to the point where he can no longer feed himself. My brother, who lives near them in Mo., was going to the hospice every other day to help my aunt feed my uncle and just "be" with him. But, my brother is here, visiting with us now. We just received word this afternoon that Uncle B cannot swallow food. So, to abide by his wishes when he was of sound mind, hospice staff as of now are no longer feeding him. My brother is very upset, and wishes he were there. We feel so for our aunt. This man is the love of her life. Both, godly Christians who have always served the Lord. We are all so very sad. Please pray, especially for strength and comfort for my dear Aunt J during the next few days...and my Uncle B as he gets ready to go home, that his suffering is minimal. Thank you, dear friends.

(((IO))) Prayers coming for you and your family. If it makes you feel any better, when I was a nurse, we had several patients request not to be fed, as it would only prolong their death. The physical discomfort is very minimal, and only lasts for a day or so, then the body (or God?) takes the discomfort away. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. I don't know exactly what happens, but I know these people were ready to accept their fate, and they had very peaceful deaths. Hugs and prayers! Amy

Heavenly Father, we pray as uncle B is in the hospital. We pray that Thy will be done, whether that be healing him, or taking him home. Please comfort the family, especially Aunt J, and IQ's brother in this time of such sorrow...in Jesus name amen. May God hold you all in His loving care IQ Huggs, NH7 |

Precious SR family... You are so dear to me. Thank you, thank you for the prayers and words. And thank you Amy, for the special insight. My daughter, an RN, told me same thing... They lost their only child, my cousin T..to cancer a year ago. If my aunt were not a Christian, I do not think she could bear this now. Hugs

My uncle passed last night...Aunt J had just left the hospice to go home and rest. Thursday is the funeral..would have been their 60th anniversary. My first thought was.."He is home." He is with God..with my Daddy..and their brothers and sister...and Jesus! But please pray for my dear Aunt...this will hard for her now. Thanks.

(((IO))) Huge prayers going to you and your aunt. I am not surprised that he died after she left. No matter how far the person is gone, I think they still try to do what's best for the people that love them and he probably didn't want her there when he went home. It always amazed me how people could show their love until their last breath. Hugs and prayers! Amy

My Dear IO Storm, I am very sorry I got in late reading your thread. I will be praying for your dear aunt, your brother, and you. Your Uncle B is with Our Dear Lord. I was so thankful to read that once he could not swallow he passed quickly. I know The Lord was waiting to welcome him & I am sure he is with his other loved ones that have gone home before him. Love & Prayers, Diane |
