| Ephesians 2:8 and 9 | Prayer request:
I have a prayer request. I am new at the whole NA meeting thing, and since the last person who was leading Saturday Nights has stepped down, I have taken her place. My prayer is this as tonight is the second time I have lead: That the Lord would send the ppl he wants there. That he would be glorified even though it is not a "Christian" meeting. That I would be able to be an example even though I am just coming up on 6 months. That I would not be intimidated by anyone there in the meetings. That I would know what I can share as far as my HP goes without being fearful, but at the same time having balance for unity in the group. Thanks guys! love you all the way to JESUS! ![]() Sheila <>< |

| ![]() Sending Prayers up for you. Don't let the fact that you are only coming up on six months as you put it bother you. I have met so many people over the years who can show years on a calendar and have plenty of tokens and key tags, but their behaviors and way of life sure don't show it. I'll be there with you in spirit, but know that your HP is always right there with you. Hugs and Love, Judy

I'm praying over your list. You're an inspiration here and I know God will use you for great things in the meetings and give you the strength and courage to lead.

Thanks for the prayers you guys. The meeting went awesome! I took a group conscience and we are rotating the Leader job as I passed around a calender for sign ups. I will be unlocking the church and doing the secretary and treasure job. I read the group booklet yesterday and used some info from that, also I ordered the treasury sheets to keep everything on the up and up. we have very few ppl at our meetings here 5-6 so it is small and very few have any clean time at all who are willing, so when asked, I stepped up to the plate. Afterwards I went to an AA meeting. that one was weird. This was my 3rd week there and I shared on topic there. Last night I was sharing w/ how my sister was still in active addiction but I was learning how to love and accept her and not take her inventory. After i shared there was a lady who has many years in the program and no joke, she went off on me. she actually was saying "YOU are contradicting yourself. you say you are not taking her inventory and yet you say she uses too many meds" It was really strange. I did not react. I kept my cool and continued to look her in the eye and when she finished she apologized like 5 times for going off. I have never in all of my life experienced ANYONE saying at the meeting YOU...blah blah blah... In my opinion that goes against everything I have ever learned in recovery. Perhaps I was taking my sisters inventory, but personally I believe she was taking mine and I also believe she was giving me unwarranted advice. Anyway, I decided to not the let devil get me down and after the meeting I went straight over to a new comer who was on jail relase for the meeting and struggling w/ her higher power and I shared a tract with her and told her I would be praying for her. Please pray for her, her name is Cairie. (pronounced like Cairo only with a "E" sound at the end.) She has many needs and many hurts in life, and she needs JESUS. Thanks again for your prayers. After last night I really feel I am going to just stick to my NA meeting on Saturday night for a while instead of running over to an AA as well. Blessings! Sheila |

So sorry about your experience at the second meeting. Please know I am praying for Cairie. I think she has a beautiful name.
