i have a question about scripture - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

mark 13 30 says

30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done

I do not undestand to what he is referring to. I dont think it is end times because that generation has passed. Please clue me in on the context and meaning of this verse.

Welcome to SR.
This is a verse that cannot be taken out of context as you have singled it out. If you read the entire chapter the meaning will become clear. The chapter describes signs of the end times and is considered a prophetic (foretelling) passage.
If you would like, maybe you could post again and give us some more information about yourself and what brings you to this forum.

He is talking about the generation that actually witnesses these things he mentions, that are living at that time when they start taking place, which is future tense, not the generation of people during His time on earth.
